Si Racha

Si Racha (Thai: ศรีราชา; pronounced [sǐː rāː.t͡ɕʰāː]) is a subdistrict and town in Thailand on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, about 120 km south-east of Bangkok in Amphoe Si Racha, Chonburi Province. Si Racha is known as the provenance of the popular hot sauce, Sriracha, which is named after the town.

History

The municipality was created as a sub-district municipality (thesaban tambon) in 1945. In 1995 the sub-district municipality was upgraded to a town municipality (thesaban mueang).

Racha

Racha (also Račha, Georgian: რაჭა, Račʼa) is a highland area in western Georgia, located in the upper Rioni river valley and hemmed in by the Greater Caucasus mountains. Under Georgia’s current subdivision, Racha is included in the Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region (mkhare) as the municipalities of Oni and Ambrolauri.

Racha occupies 2,854 km² in the north-eastern corner of western Georgia. Spurs of the Greater Caucasus crest separates Racha from the Georgian historical regions of Svaneti and Lechkhumi on the north-west and from Imereti on the south, while the main Caucasus ridge forms a boundary with Russia’s North Ossetia. On the east, Racha is bordered by breakaway South Ossetia, officially part of Georgia’s Shida Kartli region.

History

Racha had been part of Colchis and Caucasian Iberia since ancient times and its main town Oni was said to have been founded by King Parnajom of Iberia in the 2nd century BC. Upon creation of the unified Georgian kingdom in the 11th century, Racha became one of the duchies (saeristavo) within it. Rati of the Baghvashi family was the first duke (eristavi) appointed by King Bagrat III. Descendants of Rati and his son Kakhaber, eponymous father of Racha’s ruling dynasty of Kakhaberisdze, governed the province until 1278. In 1278 King David VI Narin abolished the duchy during his war against the Mongols. In the mid-14th century, the duchy was restored under the rule of the Charelidze family.

Racha (soundtrack)

Racha is the feature film soundtrack of the 2012 Telugu action comedy of the same name. Mani Sharma composed the soundtrack. It consists of 5 songs written by Chandrabose, Suddala Ashok Teja, Ramajogayya Sastry, Bhuvanachandra and Chinni Charan.

Development

Mani Sharma composed the film's soundtrack and background music marking his first collaboration with Sampath Nandi and second with Ram Charan after Chirutha (2007). By mid July 2011, Mani Sharma completed composing 2 songs. The song Vaana Vaana Velluvaye from the film Gang Leader was remixed for this film.

The official track list unveiled in early March 2012 featured 5 songs in total including the title track and the remixed version of Vaana Vaana Velluvaye. The lyrics for the Telugu version were penned by Chandrabose, Suddala Ashok Teja, Ramajogayya Sastry, Bhuvanachandra and Chinni Charan. Vivega, Arivumathi and A. R. P. Jayaram penned the lyrics for the Tamil dubbed version Ragalai.

After considering Tirupathi, the makers opted to host a promotional event to launch the soundtrack at Kurnool on 20 February 2012 on the eve of Maha Shivaratri. Later it was postponed to 4 March 2012. Chiranjeevi and Shankar were expected to attend the audio launch as chief guests. The event was cancelled in the last minute as the makers felt that the students would be disturbed as examinations were approaching. The venue was shifted to Hyderabad.

Racha (film)

Racha (English: Uproar), also spelt Rachcha, is a 2012 Indian Telugu action film directed by Sampath Nandi and co-written by the Paruchuri Brothers. Produced by R. B. Choudary in association with N. V. Prasad and Paras Jain under their banner Megaa Super Good Films, it features Ram Charan and Tamannaah in the lead roles, with Mukesh Rishi, Dev Gill and Kota Srinivasa Rao playing the antagonists. The film marks the Telugu debut of Ajmal Ameer and R. Parthiepan who make a crucial cameo appearance.

The film focuses on the attempts made by a gambler Raj to make a medical student Chaitra fall in love with him as a part of a bet where he is challenged by his rival James. Raj accepts the challenge in order to meet the expenses of his adopted father's liver transplantation but later discovers that he has been trapped by James and Chaitra for a purpose.

The film was edited by Gautham Raju; Sameer Reddy provided the cinematography; Mani Sharma composed the film's score and soundtrack. Made on a budget of ₹320 million, the Principal photography commenced in June 2011 and was shot in various locations throughout Asia, mainly in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu of India apart from Sri Lanka and Bangkok. The film was also shot in the Anji County of China making it the first Telugu film to do so.
