Shunza (born 1973) is an Chinese-American singer-songwriter known for her "velvet" voice and love ballads. Unlike most pop idols who perform in front of screaming fans, Shunza's concerts are more intimate and cocktail-style. Over the course of her career, she has collaborated with Taiwanese artists such as Elva Hsiao and Wilber Pan.
Ni Shunzi was born on February 12, 1973 as the youngest of two children. Her father was a clarinet player, while her mother was a well-known pianist. At the age of three, she, her mother, and her older sister moved from Beijing to the San Francisco Bay Area as a result of divorce. Upon graduating high school, Shunza studied at the School of Jazz and Contemporary Music in Lausanne, Switzerland EJMA - http://www.ejma.ch. It was there that she founded a band called Duty Free, releasing a few works in Europe. In 1994, Moyan Records, a subsidiary of Rock Records, received one of her demo tapes, and consequently signed her to a record contract.
Slim lined sheik faced
Angel of the night
Riding like a cowboy
In the graveyard of the night
New York Witch
In the dungeon of the day
I'm trying to write my novel
But all you do is play
Baby Boomerang, Baby Boomerang
Well, you never spite a person
But you always bang the whole gang
Oh yeah...
Mince pie dog-eye
Eagle on the wind
I'm searching through this garbage
Just looking for a friend
Your uncle with an alligator
Chained to his leg
Dangles you your freedom
Then he offers you his bed
Baby Boomerang, Baby Boomerang
Well, you never spite a person
But you always bang the whole gang
It seems to me to dream
Is something too wild
In Max's Kansas City
You're belladonna child
Hiding on the highways
On the gateways to the south
You're talking with your boots
And you're walking with your mouth
Baby Boomerang, Baby Boomerang
Well, you never spite a person
But you always bang the whole gang
