Showtime!

Showtime! is the thirteenth album (and third live album) by American rock band The J. Geils Band, released in 1982. It was recorded at the Pine Knob Music Theater in Clarkston, Michigan, and proved commercially successfully but most critics consider it to be weaker than the group's two earlier live albums "Live" Full House (1972) and Blow Your Face Out (1976). This was the last release by the band before frontman Peter Wolf left the band.

Showtime is a live album by British guitarist Mick Ronson, released in 1999. It is a compilation of two live shows from 1976 and 1989, and the album was released six years after Ronson's death.

It's Showtime (variety show)

It's Showtime (also known as Showtime) is a noontime musical variety show that premiered on October 24, 2009 on ABS-CBN. The show airs weekdays at 12:15pm to 2:45pm and Saturdays at 12:00nn to 3:00pm, and is mainly presented by Vice Ganda, Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Billy Crawford, Karylle Yuzon, Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla, and Amy Perez. The show is also broadcast worldwide through The Filipino Channel. On January 28, 2012, the show aired a special episode to end its two-year competition format as Showtime, and ended with an impartial farewell. On February 6, 2012, it debuted as a reformatted noontime show.It's Showtime was also previously aired on Studio 23 (now ABS-CBN Sports and Action) and CgeTV's website during its relaunch week. The show is also available via live streaming thru ABS-CBN Entertainment YouTube channel but for the Tawag ng Tanghalan segment.

Shorts

Shorts are a garment worn by both men and women over their pelvic area, circling the waist and splitting to cover the upper part of the legs, sometimes extending down to the knees but not covering the entire length of the leg. They are called "shorts" because they are a shortened version of trousers, which cover the entire leg. Shorts are typically worn in warm weather or in an environment where comfort and air flow are more important than the protection of the legs.

There are a variety of shorts, ranging from knee-length short trousers that can in some situations be worn as formal clothes to beachwear and athletic shorts. Some types of shorts are typically worn by women, such as culottes, which are a divided skirt resembling a pair of loose-cut shorts.

Terminological differences

In British English the term "short trousers" has been used, but only for shorts that are a short version of real trousers (pants), e.g. tailored shorts, often lined, as typically worn as part of school uniform for boys up to their early teens, and by servicemen and policemen in tropical climates. The American term "short pants" is probably the nearest equivalent in the US, there they might now be called "dress shorts", a term that has not gained much currency in Britain. A somewhat similar garment worn by men in Australia is called "stubbies". "Shorts" is used unqualified in British English to refer to sports shorts, athletic shorts, or casual shorts: the last is nowadays commonplace in warm weather in the UK.

Shorts: The Adventures of the Wishing Rock

Shorts (also known as Shorts: The Adventures of the Wishing Rock, Shorts: A Not So Tall Tale only on the trailer and released internationally as The Wishing Rock) is a 2009 American sci-fi fantasy adventurelm which incorporates both live action and CGI animation. The film was written and directed by Robert Rodriguez, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, co-produced by Imagenation Abu Dhabi, Lin Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures, Media Rights Capital and Troublemaker Studios with music by Rodriguez, George Oldziey and Carl Thiel and produced by Rodriguez and Elizabeth Avellán for Media Rights Capital.

The film stars Jon Cryer, William H. Macy, Leslie Mann, James Spader, Jimmy Bennett and Kat Dennings. The special effects were done by KNB EFX Group, Troublemaker Digital Studios and Hybride Technologies for the animation.

Shorts: The Adventures of the Wishing Rock was theatrically released in the United States on August 21, 2009 by Warner Bros. Pictures. The film earned $29 million on a $20 million budget. It also received a Young Artist Award nomination for Best Performance in a Feature Film.

Short 330

The Short 330 (also SD3-30) is a small transport aircraft produced by Short Brothers. It seats up to 30 people and was relatively inexpensive and had low maintenance costs at the time of its introduction in 1976. The 330 was based on the SC.7 Skyvan.

Development

The Short 330 was developed by Short Brothers of Belfast from Short's earlier Short Skyvan STOL utility transport. The 330 had a longer wingspan and fuselage than the Skyvan, while retaining the Skyvan's square-shaped fuselage cross section, allowing it to carry up to 30 passengers while retaining good short field characteristics. The first prototype of the 330 flew on 22 August 1974.

The Short 330 is unusual in having all of its fuel contained in tanks located directly above the ceiling of the passenger cabin. There are two separate cockpit doors for pilot and co-pilot for access from inside the cabin.

While Short concentrated on producing airliners, the design also spawned two freight versions. The first of these, the Short 330-UTT (standing for Utility Tactical Transport), was a military transport version fitted with a strengthened cabin floor and paratroop doors, which was sold in small numbers, primarily to Thailand, which purchased four. The Short Sherpa was a freighter fitted with a full-width rear cargo door/ramp. This version first flew on 23 December 1982, with the first order, for 18 aircraft, being placed by the United States Air Force (USAF) in March 1983, for the European Distribution System Aircraft (EDSA) role, to fly spare parts between USAF bases within Europe.
