Show mine

A mine, i.e. an industrial facility for the underground extraction of mineral commodities, has three operating phases: it may be open or running, or closed or it may be a working museum. Most mines are simply closed once they are no longer productive. For safety they are usually partially destroyed (filled in). However, many mines are at least partially accessible today to visitors.

In such cases they may be referred to as show mines or visitor mines if the focus is mainly on visiting the former mine, or mining museums if the mine only forms part of a museum. Most show mines have been set up in abandoned mines. In recent decades, however, they have often been established immediately after the mine has closed. As a result, at least some jobs have been preserved, but their funding comes from cultural tourism and subsidies, not the extraction of natural resources.

Overview

A show mine is often just a small part of a much larger mining facility that is developed, secured and provided with educational exhibits and installations. Such mines are usually equipped with fixed electrical lighting, which rarely existed in earlier mining operations. A few mines offer more authentic guided tours, by not using electric lights and equipping visitors instead with miners' lamps. In Germany and Austria, the respective mining offices are entrusted with the supervision of the show mines within their areas of responsibility. This specifically includes the observance of safety. For example, show mines, must have a second exit and the fire service responsible must agree to practise the rescue of accident victims from the mine at regular intervals.

Mine (novel)

Mine is a novel written by American author Robert R. McCammon. It won the 1990 Bram Stoker Award for Best Novel.

Plot summary

The novel tells the story of Laura Clayborne, a successful journalist, the wife of a stockbroker and mother-to-be. With her life seemingly falling apart, Laura hopes that her newborn son, David, will make her life everything it ought to be.

Mary Terrell, aka Mary Terror, is a survivor of the radical 1960s and a once a member of the fanatical Storm Front Brigade. Mary lives in a hallucinatory world of memories, guns, and above all, murderous rage. After viewing an ad placed in a popular magazine, she becomes convinced that the former leader of the Brigade, Lord Jack, is commanding her to bring him the child she was carrying when her life was suddenly turned upside down.

Mary steals Laura's baby and the manhunt is on. With no help at all Laura sets out on a cross-country trip to reclaim that which is hers. But soon Laura realizes that in order to get back her son and her life she may have to become as savage as the woman she's hunting.

Mine (film)

Mine is a 1985 Turkish drama film directed by Atıf Yılmaz. It was entered into the 14th Moscow International Film Festival.

Show Luo (simplified Chinese: 罗志祥; traditional Chinese: 羅志祥; pinyin: Luó Zhìxiáng; born July 30, 1979) is a Taiwanese singer, actor and host. He was commonly known by his Chinese nickname Xiao Zhu(Little Pig) due to being overweight during his middle school years. He was also commonly known as “Asia’s Dance King” by the Taiwanese media for his dance skills. He is well known for hosting the Taiwanese variety show 100% Entertainment.

Show was born into a musical family. His father was a host and his mother was a singer. Their job was holding entertainment shows for different events such as the wedding.Show started playing drums when he was three and performed onstage during his childhood. He won a silver award at a singing contest when he was only 7.

In 2006, he created his own fashion brand called STAGE. Now this fashion store has branches in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore and succeeded in the fashion trend in Asia during the recent years.

Show Luo became the spokesperson for Love Blind Charity in 2008. Next year, he was asked to become the leader of “Love Blind promise Career Starter Class”. Show (film)

Show is a Telugu National award winning film released in 2002. Directed by Neelakanta, the film stars Manjula Ghattamaneni and Surya. The film was premiered in the Indian Panorama section at the International Film Festival of India.

Plot

Ridhima (Manjula), an executive from Delhi-based pharmaceutical company visits a remote village in AP to make a deal on patents with a professor who invented a new drug. The professor leaves a note that he would return late as he had to attend some urgent work and she shall wait for his arrival. At that time Madhav Rao, a junior lawyer who supervises the event of patent selling arrives at that place. Ridhima is a fun loving unmarried girl. Madhav Rao is a frustrated married guy. The events that take place for a few hours between these two makes up the story.

An animal show is a form of exhibition featuring the display or performance of one or more breeds of animal.

Purpose

An animal show can be for entertainment, educational, and/or commercial purpose. A judged event may rank specimens for the benefit of those involved in animal breeding or husbandry, or provide entertainment to animal fancy hobbyists.

Amusement parks

Modern amusement parks often feature performing marine mammals and even contain drive-thru animal safari tours. The animal shows are typically operated by a contracted performer, while the animal parks are owned by the theme park itself.

Animal fighting ventures

The US Animal Welfare Act prohibits the staging of dog fighting, dog-baiting, and bear or raccoon-baiting. Cockfighting is outlawed in every state in the United States but is not banned nationally in the US.

Animal performances

Animals perform tricks and stunts in the circus, marine mammal shows, amusement parks, carnivals, independent animal acts, television shows, movies, and educational exhibits. These can be licensed acts with booking agents.
