Shorty (crater)
Shorty is a feature on Earth's Moon, a crater in the Taurus-Littrow valley. Astronauts Eugene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt visited it in 1972, on the Apollo 17 mission. It is the location of the famous "orange soil". It is about 110 meters (120 yards) in diameter and up to 14 m (15 yd) deep.
To the east of Shorty are Victory, Camelot, and the Apollo 17 landing site. To the southeast is Brontë. To the southwest are Lara and Nansen.
The crater was named by the astronauts to honor the genre of the short story, particularly those of Richard Brautigan and J. D. Salinger.

Shorty (film)
Shorty is a 2000 film produced by Noontide Filmworks, written, produced and directed by Jon Chang. The story follows Russell, aka "shorty", a modern urban Cyrano afflicted by his lack of height. shorty is played by Andre Canty, with Michele Persley as Venus and Frank Mayers as Eric. "Shorty" has screened at several film festivals in North America, and has received various awards, including the HBO "Short" Film Award at the 2001 Acapulco Black Film Festival, now known as the American Black Film Festival.

Shorty (band)
Shorty was an American rock band formed in Illinois in 1991. The band consisted of vocalist Al Johnson, guitarist Mark Shippy, drummer Todd Lamparelli, and bassist Luke Frantom. After the group's breakup, Al Johnson and Mark Shippy would go on to form the underground art rock band U.S. Maple.
History
Officially forming in 1991, Shorty's root can be traced back to 1986, when vocalist Al Johnson and guitarist Mark Shippy first met through mutual friends. At the time, both were involved in local Illinois rock bands; Johnson in the DeKalb, Illinois, gothic rock band Nursery, and Mark Shippy in the Crystal Lake, Illinois, art rock group, the Muckrakers, consisting of Shippy (known as Harry), Larry Nutley (known as Icky Muck), Tom Nutley (known as Stu), and Eddie Buster (known as Ponaman). In the spring of 1988, Johnson and Shippy decided to join together for an as-yet unnamed project, placing an ad in a local DeKalb newspaper for bandmates to back them up. After a number of responses which went nowhere, the two were approached by Todd Lamparelli and Anthony Ciarrocchi, childhood friends and recent castoffs from the Chicago Heights punk rock band Tricot Mesh. Together, the four-piece began playing under an ever-changing assortment of names such as Dragster, and Bomb.

Crater (constellation)
Crater is a constellation. Its name is Latin for cup, and in Greek mythology it is identified with the cup of the god Apollo. It was one of the 48 constellations listed by the 2nd century astronomer Ptolemy, and remains one of the 88 modern constellations. It is faint, with no star brighter than third magnitude.

Alpha Crateris, traditionally called Alkes, is an orange-hued giant star of magnitude 4.1, 174 light-years from Earth. Its traditional name means "the cup". Beta Crateris is a blue-white hued star of magnitude 4.5, 266 light-years from Earth. Gamma Crateris is a double star divisible in small amateur telescopes. The primary is a white star of magnitude 4.1, 84 light-years from Earth. The secondary is of magnitude 9.6. Delta Crateris is the brightest star in Crater at magnitude 3.6. 195 light-years away, it is an orange-hued giant star.
R Crateris is a semi-regular variable of type SRb and a spectral classification of M7. It has a magnitude of 9.8-11.2 and an optical period of 160 days.
Crater 101
"Crater 101" is the 17th episode of the Supermarionation television series Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons. It was first broadcast in the United Kingdom on 26 January 1968 on ATV Midlands, was written by Tony Barwick and directed by Ken Turner.
After the events of "Lunarville 7", in this episode Captains Scarlet and Blue and Lieutenant Green return to the Moon to destroy the Mysteron complex in Crater 101.
Plot
It is planned that the Mysteron complex in Crater 101, on the far side of the Moon, will be destroyed with an atomic device. However, so that the Mysterons will not be able to reconstruct their complex, its power source will first have to be located and removed. Captains Scarlet and Blue and Lieutenant Green volunteer for the mission and, returning to the Moon, launch their operation from Lunarville 6. Travelling to Crater 101 in a Moonmobile, and transferring to a smaller Lunar Tractor to enter the crater, the officers are attacked by computerised sentinels, which are immobilised when Green destroys the control vehicle with the Tractor's cannon. Donning space suits and entering the complex, Scarlet, Blue and Green take camera and instrumentation recordings and ultimately find that the power source is a pulsating crystal.
