Milaș

Milaş (Hungarian: Nagynyulas, Nyulas; German: Hasendorf) is a commune in Bistriţa-Năsăud County, Romania. It is composed of six villages: Comlod (Komlód), După Deal (Hegymögött), Ghemeş (Gémestanya), Hirean (Hirántanya), Milaş and Orosfaia (Oroszfája).

Mila Islam

Tasbiha Binte Shahid Mila (Bengali: তাসবিয়া বিনতে শহীদ, better known by her stage name Mila Islam) is a Bangladeshi singer. She sings songs in the fusion and folk genres.

Earlier life

Mila completed her HSC from Chittagong Cantonment Public College. After her first marriage, Mila started her music career by singing in local weddings and gae-holuds. At that time she used to live in Chittagong with her then husband, Raj Ahmed, but later she moved to Dhaka to work on her first album.

Career

Mila got her break with "Fele Asha" of her first solo album which was released in 2006. This album was composed by a number of music directors. In 2008,her second solo album, Fuad featuring Mila "Chapter-2" was released. This album was composed by music director Fuad. In 2009, Fuad featuring Mila "Re-defined" was released as Mila's 3rd album which also was composed by Fuad.

Mila (Doctor Who)

Mila is a fictional character played by Jess Robinson and India Fisher in a series of audio plays produced by Big Finish Productions based on the long-running British science fiction television series Doctor Who. A human prisoner of the Daleks, she becomes a companion of the Sixth Doctor while impersonating Charley Pollard.

Character history

Mila first appeared in the play Patient Zero. She was a human prisoner of the Daleks, captured during one of their wars. The Daleks experimented on her with bio-engineered viruses to create a virus that turned the beings it infected into Daleks. Due to these experiments, she lost most of her memories and became invisible and non-corporeal, but also gained other unique abilities.

Mila later escaped from the Daleks and sneaked aboard the Doctor's TARDIS when he was being chased through time by the Daleks, implied to be during the events of the First Doctor serial The Chase. She remained in the TARDIS, unseen by anyone for centuries.

During the Sixth Doctor's life, she met Charley Pollard, the only companion unprotected by the TARDIS' biological defences. With the TARDIS failing to protect Charley, Mila infected her, making Charley invisible and non-corporeal, while Mila took on Charley's physical form. Mila travelled with the Sixth Doctor for some time, pretending to be Charley (like in the audio drama Paper Cuts), while the real Charley was left invisible and alone. In Blue Forgotten Planet, Charley is eventually cured by the Viyrans, while Mila chooses to sacrifice herself to save the Doctor and the Earth. Following Mila's death, the Viyrans and Charley altered the Doctor's memories, so that he remembered his adventures with Charley as being with Mila's name and face.

Møn

Møn is an island in south-eastern Denmark. Until 1 January 2007, it was a municipality in its own right but it is now part of the municipality of Vordingborg, after merging with the former municipalities of Langebæk, Præstø, and Vordingborg. This has created a municipality with an area of 615 km² (237 sq mi) and a total population of 46,307 (2005). It belongs to the Region Sjælland ("Zealand Region"). Møn is one of Denmark's most popular destinations for tourists with its white chalk cliffs, countryside, sandy beaches and the market town of Stege.

Location

Møn is located just off the south-eastern tip of Zealand from which it is separated by the waters of the Hølen strait between Kalvehave and the island of Nyord, at the northern end of Møn. Further south is Stege Bugt. At the narrowest point between the two islands, the waters are referred to as Wolf Strait (Ulvsund), which is the primary strait separating Møn from Zealand.

To the southwest is Stubbekøbing on the island of Falster, which is separated from Møn by the Grønsund (Green Strait).

Mon people

The Mon (Mon: မောန် or မည်; Burmese: မွန်လူမျိုး‌, pronounced: [mʊ̀ɴ lù mjó]; Khmer: មន, Thai: มอญ, pronounced [mɔ̄ːn]) are an ethnic group from Burma (Myanmar) living mostly in Mon State, Bago Region, the Irrawaddy Delta and along the southern border of Thailand and Burma. One of the earliest peoples to reside in Southeast Asia, the Mon were responsible for the spread of Theravada Buddhism in Indochina. The Mon were a major source of influence on the culture of Burma. They speak the Mon language, an Austroasiatic language, and share a common origin with the Nyah Kur people of Thailand from the Mon mandala (polity) of Dvaravati.

The eastern Mon assimilated to Thai culture long ago. The western Mon of Burma were largely absorbed by Bamar society but continue fighting to preserve their language and culture and to regain a greater degree of political autonomy. The Mon of Burma are divided into three sub-groups based on their ancestral region in Lower Burma: the Man Nya (မန်ည) from Pathein (the Irrawaddy Delta) in the west, the Man Duin (မန်ဒိုၚ်) in Bago in the central region, and the Man Da (မန်ဒ) at Mottama in the southeast.

Mon, Switzerland

Mon is a former municipality in the district of Albula in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland. On 1 January 2015 the former municipalities of Alvaschein, Mon, Stierva, Tiefencastel, Alvaneu, Brienz/Brinzauls and Surava merged to form the new municipality of Albula/Alvra.

History

Mon is first mentioned around 1001-1200 as de Maune. In 1281 it was mentioned as Mans. Until 1943 Mon was known as Mons.

Geography

Before the merger, Mon had a total area of 8.5 km² (3.3 sq mi). Of this area, 36.7% is used for agricultural purposes, while 58.8% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 1.9% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (2.7%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).

The municipality is located in the Alvaschein sub-district of the Albula district. It is southwest of Tiefencastel on the left hand slope of the Oberhalbstein Range.

Demographics

Mon had a population (as of 2013) of 90.As of 2008, 5.6% of the population was made up of foreign nationals. Over the last 10 years the population has grown at a rate of 7.1%. Most of the population (as of 2000) speaks Rhaeto-Romance (52.3%), with German being second most common (45.3%) and Italian being third ( 1.2%).
