Shoe insert

A removable shoe insert, otherwise known as a foot orthoses, accomplishes many number of purposes, including daily wear comfort, foot and joint pain relief from arthritis, overuse, injuries, and other causes such as orthopedic correction, smell reduction and athletic performance.

Fitting patients

Traditionally they were created from plaster casts made from the patient's foot. These casts were made by wrapping dipped plaster or fiberglass strips around the foot to capture the form, then letting it dry and harden. Once the cast was hardened, the doctor would carefully remove it from the patient's foot and ship it, along with a prescription, to an orthotics lab which would use the negative of the cast to create an orthopedic insert.

Recently, companies such as Tom-Cat Solutions and Delcam have developed digital foot scanners that use specialized software to scan a patient's foot and create a "virtual" cast. These scans are made by having the patient place the foot onto a specialized flat image scanner that uses light and software to capture and create a 3D model. This 3D model is then electronically submitted (along with a prescription) to an orthotics lab, where it is used to program a CNC machine that will ultimately produce the orthopedic insert.

Lift (web framework)

Lift is a free and open-source web framework that is designed for the Scala programming language. It was originally created by David Pollak who was dissatisfied with certain aspects of the Ruby on Rails framework. Lift was launched as an open source project on February 26, 2007 under the Apache 2.0 license. A commercially popular web platform often cited as being developed using Lift is Foursquare.

Design goals and overview

Lift is an expressive framework for writing web applications. It draws upon concepts from peer frameworks such as Grails, Ruby on Rails, Seaside, Wicket and Django. It favors convention over configuration in the style of Ruby on Rails, although it does not prescribe the model–view–controller (MVC) architectural pattern. Rather, Lift is chiefly modeled upon the so-called "View First" (designer friendly) approach to web page development inspired by the Wicket framework. Lift is also designed to be a high-performance, scalable web framework by leveraging Scala actors to support more concurrent requests than is possible with a thread-per-request server.

This is a list of episodes for the stop-motion television series Robot Chicken. The first episode of Robot Chicken aired on February 20, 2005 at 11:30 PM EST on Adult Swim and the first season finished on July 18, 2005. The second season began on April 2, 2006 and ended on November 19, 2006. The show's third season premiered on August 12, 2007 and ended on October 5, 2008. The fourth season premiered on December 7, 2008 and ended on December 6, 2009. The series was put on hiatus after the premiere of "Dear Consumer" on December 6, 2009, but later on the fifth season premiered, on December 12, 2010, and ended on January 15, 2012. Season Six premiered on September 16, 2012 and included a half-hour special based on DC Comics.

The Fox sitcom Married... with Children aired its pilot on April 5, 1987, and its series finale aired on May 5, 1997, with the episode "The Desperate Half-Hour (Part 1)" and "How to Marry a Moron (Part 2)". A total of 259 original episodes aired during the program's run. Currently, all eleven seasons are available on DVD, in Region 1. The list is ordered by the episodes' original air dates. Season 1 (1987)

The first season of Married... with Children introduces the major characters: Al, Peg, Kelly and Bud Bundy, along with their neighbors, Steve and Marcy Rhoades. The first season is the only one in which Al and Peg are regularly intimate, to the point of Al initiating the sessions. It is also the only one where Peg can be seen doing housework under normal circumstances, and she even has her own car (as seen in "Sixteen Years and What Do You Get"). In "Thinergy," Bud mentions that Kelly had been held back a year in school. Al's dislike of the French is first shown in this season and it is also the first time that he calls Marcy a "chicken." It also contains the first mention of Peg's family being "hillbillies" from the fictional Wanker County, Wisconsin.
