Shawty (song)

"Shawty" is the title of a 2007 single by rapper Plies featuring T-Pain. It is Plies' debut single from his album The Real Testament and samples "Fantasy" by Earth, Wind & Fire. The song won an award at the 2007 Ozone Awards for Best Rap/R&B Collaboration.

Music video

A music video was shot in Orlando, Florida with director Edwin Decena. Rich Boy, Rick Ross, Lil Duval, Young Jack Thriller, Elgin James, and Jevon Kearse made cameo appearances.

Remixes

The official remix, "Shawty (R&B Remix)", features R&B artists Trey Songz and former Pretty Ricky member Pleasure P. A remix featuring Webbie and T-Pain was also released on the mixtape, DJ Smallz: The Best Thing Smoking Vol. 2 (We Still Smokin'). There is also a remix on Wu-Tang Clan affiliate Solomon Childs album The Art of Making Love & War featuring Both Plies & T-Pain.

Shawty (slang)

Shawty is mostly used to refer to a young and attractive woman. Shorty is sometimes considered as a synonym for shawty. It is in some cases used as a nickname.

Perhaps the earliest recorded use of "shorty" (most commonly referring or addressed to women) were in short film episodes of The Three Stooges, dating back to the late 1930s into the 1950s.Curly Howard (and Moe) most often used the word. Curly also had several pet canines, one named "Shorty".

The term has evolved to mean a child or woman (typically because children and women are shorter in height and females had often dressed in skirts or shorties), especially an attractive woman. The most recent usage has been popularized in modern rap music.

In pop culture and hip hop, shorty has multiple meanings. In the 1980s and 1990s, the word meant "newcomer", particularly a newcomer to rap music or to certain aspects of street life or gang life. It also simply referred to someone who was younger and greener than the speaker.

Song, LLC was a low-cost air service within an airline brand owned and operated by Delta Air Lines from 2003 to 2006.

Song's main focus was on leisure traffic between the northeastern United States and Florida, a market where it competed with JetBlue Airways. It also operated flights between Florida and the West Coast, and from the Northeast to the west coast.

Song's aircraft were fitted with leather seats and free personal entertainment systems at every seat, with audio MP3 programmable selections, trivia games that could be played against other passengers, a flight tracker, and satellite television (provided by the DISH Network). Song offered free beverages, but charged for meals and liquor. Both brand-name snack boxes and healthy organic meals were offered. The flight safety instructions were sung or otherwise artistically interpreted, depending on the cabin crew. In addition to crew uniforms designed by Kate Spade, customized cocktails created by nightlife impresario Rande Gerber and an in-flight exercise program designed by New York City fitness guru David Barton, the airline created its own distinct mark in the industry. The Song brand was placed on more than 200 flights a day which carried over ten million passengers.
