Shane Boyd

Shane Boyd (born September 18, 1982) is an American football quarterback for the Houston Texans of the National Football league (NFL). He was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the 5th round (150th overall) in 2005. He played college football for the Kentucky Wildcats.

Boyd has also been a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers And Arizona Cardinals.

Early years

In high school and college, Boyd played both baseball and football. He was drafted as a pitcher by the Minnesota Twins the 6th round of the 2004 MLB Draft but decided against signing.

He was a great football player and baseball player at Henry Clay High School in Lexington, Kentucky. His brother, Aaron, was a wide receiver at Kentucky.

College career

Boyd was a four-year starter at the University of Kentucky. in his freshman year he finished the season throwing for 2,557 yard 14 touchdowns and 4 interceptions completing 65.2% of his passes as well as rushing the ball for 779 yard on 132 attempts and 6 touchdowns. In his sophomore year he would complete 200 of 319 passes for 2,803 yards 17 touchdown and 4 interceptions as well as rushing for 898 yards on 112 attempts and 7 touchdowns.
