Lady B

Wendy Clark, better known by her stage name Lady B, is an American rapper from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is one of the earliest female rappers in hip hop, and one of the first to record a studio album. She began her career with the WHAT radio station in 1979, and recorded her first single later that year, "To the Beat Y'all".

Music and radio career

In 1984, Lady B moved to Philadelphia's Power 99 FM and started the program, "The Street Beat," the program ran until 1989. She is now broadcasting for Sirius Satellite Radio in New York City, and WRNB 100.3. in Philadelphia.

Shady Lady (1945 film)

Shady Lady was a 1945 romantic comedy directed by George Waggner for Universal Studios with Charles Coburn, Robert Paige, and Ginny Simms. Waggner originally wanted Susanna Foster for the film but she refused it. Ginny Simms sings floor show songs "Cuddle Up a Little Closer", "In Love With Love" and "Xango".

Shady Lady (aircraft)

Shady Lady was a Consolidated B-24 Liberator aircraft that in August 1943 flew one of World War II's longest bombing missions, from Darwin in Australia to the oil refineries at Balikpapan in the East Kalimantan province on the island of Borneo, Indonesia.

Shortly before running out of fuel on the return flight from the target, Shady Lady was crash-landed on a remote salt pan in northern Western Australia after flying for 16 hours and 35 minutes. With help from the people in the Aboriginal community, Shady Lady was eventually repaired and flew back to base.

380th Bombardment Group

Shady Lady was part of the 380th Bombardment Group which flew B-24 bombers in the South West and Western Pacific areas in WWII. Known as the "Flying Circus" and "King Of The Heavies", the 380th Bombardment Group went overseas in April 1943 and was placed under the control of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) and assigned to the Australian North West Area Command operating out of Darwin, Northern Territory.
