Sewn to the Sky is the first album by Bill Callahan (also known as Smog), released in 1990 on Disaster Records. It was later re-released on Drag City and manifested Callahan's importance for the lo-fi music in the early 1990s. This highly experimental album combined home recording, substandard instruments and repetitive and noisy songwriting structures for what was later called the pioneering of the lo-fi genre. The liner notes stated it was recorded on a "dumpster Portastudio".
The track, "A Jar of Sand", was re-recorded for the 'Neath the Puke Tree EP in 2000.
The track "I Want to Tell You About a Man", written about Jesus Christ, refers to Philip K. Dick in the line "He doesn't read Dick K. Philips", reversing Dick's name ostensibly for humor.
To the Sky is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter and producer Kevin Rudolf. It was released on June 15, 2010 in the United States by Cash Money Records, Island Records and Universal Republic Records.
Rudolf has said that he embraced dance music saying, "it's like most of it up-tempo, most of it electropop rock hip-hop stuff". The album features mostly guitar heavy beats.
Kevin Rudolf confirmed collaborations from Birdman, Lil Wayne, Jay Sean, Rivers Cuomo from Weezer, and Three 6 Mafia in an interview with Rap-Up. Kevin has stated that he wanted to do a duet with Jay-Z and Kanye West on the album. Rivers Cuomo appears on the tracks "I Made It" and "Spit in Your Face," a reworked version of a Lil Wayne song which had leaked about a year prior to the album's release. That song was original slated to be on Lil Wayne's album Rebirth. Wayne raps on all of the verses. He wanted Natasha Bedingfield to be on the album, but was unable to find a suitable song. He also wanted to work with Sade on the album. In an interview, Vibe listed Flo Rida as a feature on the album.
Owl City is an American electronica project created in 2007 in Owatonna, Minnesota; it is one of several projects by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Adam Young. Young created the project while experimenting with music in his parents' basement. Owl City developed a following on the social networking site MySpace, like many musicians who achieved success in the late 2000s, before signing with Universal Republic Records, now Republic Records, in 2008.
After two independent releases, Owl City gained mainstream popularity with the 2009 major label debut album Ocean Eyes, which includes the six-time platinum single "Fireflies". The album was certified platinum in the United States in April 2010.
In June 2011, Owl City released its third studio album, All Things Bright and Beautiful, which was followed by The Midsummer Station in August 2012. Owl City has recorded songs for several animated films, including Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole, Wreck-It Ralph, The Croods and The Smurfs 2. Owl City also has released several charting singles, most notably "Good Time" and "Fireflies".
"To the Sky" is a song by Macedonian Serbian singer Tijana. It was composed by Darko Dimitrov and Lazar Cvetkovski, while the lyrics were written by Dimitrov and Elena Risteska Ivanovska. It was internally selected to represent Macedonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Denmark. The song was revealed on 22 February 2014, and was made available for digital download the next day through the iTunes Store.
The song that would originally represent the country was "Pobeda" which would be in the Macedonian language. However, on 22 February 2014 the actual entry of the country was performed in both the English and Macedonian languages as "To the Sky" and "Tamu kaj sto pripagjam" respectively.
The sky (or celestial dome) is everything that lies above the surface of the Earth, including the atmosphere and outer space.
In the field of astronomy, the sky is also called the celestial sphere. This is viewed from Earth's surface as an imaginary dome where the sun, stars, planets, and the moon are seen to be traveling. The celestial sphere is conventionally divided into regions called constellations. Usually, the term sky is used informally as the point of view from the Earth's surface; however, the meaning and usage can vary. In some cases, such as in discussing the weather, the sky refers to only the lower, more dense portions of the atmosphere.
During daylight, the sky appears to be blue because air scatters blue sunlight more than it scatters red. At night, the sky appears to be a mostly dark surface or region scattered with stars. During the day, the Sun can be seen in the sky unless obscured by clouds. In the night sky (and to some extent during the day) the moon, planets and stars are visible in the sky. Some of the natural phenomena seen in the sky are clouds, rainbows, and aurorae. Lightning and precipitation can also be seen in the sky during storms. Birds, insects, aircraft, and kites are often considered to fly in the sky. Due to human activities, smog during the day and light pollution during the night are often seen above large cities.
The Sky was a magazine for amateur astronomers published between 1935 and 1941. It was the successor to a monthly bulletin called The Amateur Astronomer, which was published by the Amateur Astronomers Association (AAA) of New York City, and a precursor to Sky & Telescope before merging with The Telescope.
TheSky is an astronomy application designed to be used for educational, observational purposes. TheSky provides an extensive feature set including the following:
Saving all your money for fame
Giving everything, giving everything
You hate ones face
And hope that others will love the other
So many shadows under my eyes
Hiding me in the shadows
You hate ones face
And hope that others will love the other
Saving all your money for fame
Giving away everything
You buy fame with
Confederate bills and pinball slugs
You hate ones face
And that hope others will love the other
