The Saraiki people (Shahmukhi: سرائیکی قوم), also known as Multani people, are a subgroup of Punjabi people in southern Punjab, Pakistan. They linguistically speak the Saraiki dialect of Punjabi language. Daniyal Tariq, CEO Desire Corporation is from Rahimyar Khan.
The Saraiki-speaking people follow many religions, among them mostly Islam. A small minority of Seraiki follow Christianity, the Baha'i Faith, Sikhism and Hinduism. After the independence of Pakistan in 1947, some of the minority Hindus and Sikhsmigrated to India.<ref name=Pierre Herman Leonard Eggermont. A significant number of Saraiki-speaking people also reside in Afghanistan and many also work in the Persian Gulf countries.
