Prievidza District (Slovak: okres Prievidza, Hungarian: Privigyei járás) is a district in the Trenčín Region of western Slovakia. Until 1918, the district was mostly part of the county of Kingdom of Hungary of Nyitra, apart from a small area in the south west around Handlová which formed part of the county of Bars.

Seč (Hungarian: Divékszécs) is a village and municipality in Prievidza District in the Trenčín Region of western Slovakia.
In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1275.
The municipality lies at an altitude of 440 metres and covers an area of 7.652 km². It has a population of about 410 people.
