The Matrix is a pop music writing and production team, consisting of Lauren Christy, Graham Edwards and Scott Spock.
Before her involvement in The Matrix, Lauren Christy had moderate success as a singer-songwriter, releasing two albums under Mercury Records in the mid-1990s, entitled Lauren Christy and Breed. She and songwriter and record producer Graham Edwards married but have since divorced. Before his involvement in The Matrix, Scott Spock had moderate success as a remixer, film composer and jazz trumpeter with Dave Weckl.
The Matrix gained fame and fortune in the early 2000s after writing and producing a series of hits for artists including Christina Aguilera, Liz Phair, Busted, Hilary Duff, Avril Lavigne, McFly, Jason Mraz, Ashley Tisdale, Shakira, Britney Spears, Skye Sweetnam, Miranda Cosgrove and Tokio Hotel. They went on to co-write and produce metal band Korn's seventh studio album See You on the Other Side which sold over two million copies worldwide.
