Uniregistry is a Cayman Islands-based domain name registry that administers the generic top-level domains .audio, .auto, .blackfriday, .car, .cars, .christmas, .click, .diet, .flowers, .game, .gift, .guitars, .help, .hiphop, .hiv, .hosting, .juegos, .link, .lol, .mom, .photo, .pics, .property, .sexy, and .tattoo. In February 2012, the related company Uniregistrar Corporation became an ICANN-accredited registrar and launched under the licensed Uniregistry brand name in 2014.

History

Uniregistry Corporation was officially founded in 2012 by Frank Schilling, one of the largest private domain name portfolio owners in the world, and registered in the Cayman Islands. However, the domain Uniregistry.com was registered six years earlier and the company filed an intent to use the name in the Cayman Islands in 2010. Trademark applications for the "Uniregistry" mark and its stylized "U" logo were filed in 2012. That year, Schilling invested $60 million and applied for 54 new top-level domains. Uniregistrar Corporation became an ICANN-accredited registrar in February 2013. In January 2014, Uniregistry Inc. became a subsidiary in Newport Beach, California to house a West Coast service and support team. The registrar began operating under the licensed Uniregistry brand name in 2014. Uniregistry's registry infrastructure was designed by Internet Systems Consortium (ISC) and Uniregistry subsequently purchased its infrastructure in 2013.

Audio (musician)

Gareth Greenall, better known by his stage name Audio, is a British DJ and producer from Redhill, UK. Currently signed to RAM Records, he has released four album on Virus Recordings. Greenall is also part of the record production group Pixel Fist.

Biography

Attending the "Dance Kiss FM" events in London as a teenager, Audio became familiar with the jungle and Drum and bass scene and soon booked his own party with DJs Ed Rush & Optical. He was hired as studio engineer at the UK hard house label "Alphamagic" and later became an A&R. In 2002, he founded "Resonant Evil" along with Colin Worth and Jason Bull, for which he released several records until 2005. His debut album To the Edge Of Reason, released in 2008 on Tech Freak Recordings, received praises throughout the scene and also caught the attention of Virus Recordings executives Ed Rush & Optical (DJ) where he subsequently was signed to. His follow-up albums Genesis Device and Soul Magnet saw further successful singles such as "Vacuum" and "Headroom". In 2013, his final album with Virus Recordings came out after his successful "Sabretooth" remix by Optiv & BTK.

Scanners

Scanners is a 1981 Canadian science-fiction horror film written and directed by David Cronenberg and starring Jennifer O'Neill, Steven Lack, Michael Ironside, and Patrick McGoohan. In the film, "scanners" are people with unusual telepathic and telekinetic powers. ConSec, a purveyor of weaponry and security systems searches out scanners to use them for its own purposes. The film's plot concerns the attempt by Darryl Revok, a renegade scanner, to wage a war against ConSec. Another scanner, Cameron Vale, is dispatched by ConSec to stop Revok.

Plot

Private security firm ConSec plans to showcase potential "scanners", people with exceptional powers of telekinesis, telepathy, and mind control. However, when ConSec's scanner attempts to read the mind of a volunteer from the invited group, the scanner's head explodes. ConSec officials surmise that the volunteer was himself a scanner and initially take him into custody. However, he is able to use his powers to kill the men guarding him and escape.

Scanners is the second album by Kontour, released on Some Bizzare Records.

Background

Recorded in West Sussex, 2007. The Executive Producer was Stevo Pearce head of Some Bizzare Records. The album was recorded using no MIDI instruments or personal computers, instead primitive music sequencers, tape effects and Drum Machines were used. The vocals on the album where treated like a sound source and manipulated with audio effects. The album follows a theme based on paranoia; the idea of always being watched wherever you go.

Scanners are an alternative band from London, England formed around 2004.

History

The band was initially formed by Matthew Mole (vocals, guitar, synthesizer) and Sarah Daly (vocals, bass guitar, violin) around 2004, who after writing songs together played their early gigs backed by a drum machine. The line-up was later expanded with the addition of Amina Bates (guitar, keyboards, background vocals), and Tom Hutt (drums). Signed by label owner and DJ Steve Aoki to his indie label Dim Mak. They have supported The Horrors, Devo, The Mystery Jets, The Charlatans UK, Silversun Pickups, The Wedding Present, Electric Six, Juliette and the Licks and Forward Russia. Their debut album is titled Violence Is Golden and was released on US label Dim Mak Records in 2006, and saw them hailed as "a contender for this summer’s best new act" by Aversion. They have toured the United Kingdom, Europe and North America (including a show as part of the SXSW festival). They have been blogged by Perez Hilton with the title "Perez Pushes The Scanners". and in April 2007 they appeared on Last Call with Carson Daly to perform their single "Lowlife". They also headlined the Les 3 Elefants Festival after Air in France. In October 2007 they recorded a live session for XFM, with another in January 2008.Violence is Golden was released in the UK on 22 February 2008 (on Dim Mak/Influx records) and Dim Mak also released an EP of remixes of "Bombs" with work from A-Trak, LA Riots, The Teenagers and Uffie, and others on 22 January 2008. Their second album 'Submarine' was released in 2010 to a warm critical reception. 'Salvation' and 'Baby blue' reached a wide audience through their use in TV shows. Scanners third album 'Love is Symmetry' was released in 2012 on Dim Mak and Unterschaften records. They will be touring the States and Europe throughout 2013.
