  • a nickname for Sarah (given name)

  • Bağlama

The bağlama (Turkish: bağlama, from bağlamak, "to tie", pronounced [baːɫaˈma]) is a stringed musical instrument shared by various cultures in the Eastern Mediterranean, Near East, and Central Asia regions.

It is sometimes referred to as the saz (from the Persian ساز, meaning a kit or set), it is also sometimes referred as the "cura", although the term "saz" actually refers to a family of plucked string instruments, long-necked lutes used in Ottoman classical music, Turkish folk music, Iranian music, Azeri music, Kurdish music, Assyrian music, Armenian music, and in parts of Syria, Iraq and the Balkan countries. Instruments resembling today's bağlama have been found in archaeological excavations of Sumerian and Hittite mounds in Anatolia dating before Common Era, and in ancient Greek works.

According to The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, "the terms 'bağlama' and 'saz' are used somewhat interchangeably in Turkey." Like the Western lute and the Middle-Eastern oud, it has a deep round back, but a much longer neck. It can be played with a plectrum or with a fingerpicking style known as şelpe.

    Sozialistische Arbeiter-Zeitung

Sozialistische Arbeiter-Zeitung ('Socialist Workers Newspaper', abbreviated SAZ) was a daily newspaper published in Germany between 1931 and 1933.SAZ was the central organ of the Socialist Workers Party of Germany (SAPD).

    Foundation

The first issue of SAZ was published on October 21, 1931. The decision to launch a daily newspaper for the party had been taken at the founding conference of SAPD. The newspaper initially published from Breslau (present-day Wrocław). During this period it consisted only of 4 pages, and despite of the label 'central organ' it was effectively a local Breslau publication of low quality. It carried the by-line 'Daily Newspaper of the Socialist Workers Party of Germany'. Max Richard Kleineibst was the founding editor-in-chief of SAZ. Kleineibst had previously been the editor of the Social Democratic organ in Löbau, Volkszeitung für die Oberlausitz.

    Move to Berlin

On November 1, 1931 the newspaper was moved to Berlin. During this period the newspaper was published daily (except for Mondays) and contained at least 8 pages. Apart from SAZ SAPD produced a number of a weekly newspapers, Die Fackel ('The Torch', later renamed Sozialistische Wochenzeitung, 'Socialist Weekly' and Kampfsignal, 'Signal of Struggle'), a theoretical magazine Klassenkampf ('Class Struggle') and the weekly Das Volksrecht ('The People's Right').

    Saz

    by: Pur

Er zupft die Saiten und er singt
    Doch das ist ihm verboten
    Öffentlich am Neujahrsfest
    Sie sperrn ihn dafür ein
10 Tage, Nächte, Angst und Qual
    Kaum Schlimmeres kann drohen
Als Bluter kann der nächste Schlag
    Für ihn der letzte sein
Die erste Chance zur Flucht genutzt
    Er bittet um Asyl
    Ein Kurde flieht aus Syrien
    Nach Deutschland ins Exil
Die Menschen und die Sprache fremd
    Nicht nur das Wetter kalt
Geblieben ist ihm nur die "Saz"
    Sein Instrument als letzter Halt
    Er spielt um zu vergessen
Man hat ihm mehr als weh getan
    Er spielt um zu erinnern
    An ein erhofftes Land
    Er spielt um zu vergessen
Man hat ihm mehr als weh getan
    Er spielt um zu erinnern
An ein erhofftes, doch verlorenes Heimatland
Angst für immer fremd zu sein
    Angst fortgeschickt zu werden
    Angst nicht mehr zu wissen
Wer man ist, wozu man taugen soll?
    Alptraumhaftes Dasein
    schutzlos schweigend eingeschnürt
Tatenloses Warten bis die Hoffnung resigniert
    Das Greifen nach dem Strohhalm
    Das Üben in Geduld
    Dass aus Menschen Opfer werden
    Daran sind die Täter schuld
    Refrain: ...
    Während wir das hören
Während er so für sich spielt
    Wird weltweit in vielen Kellern
    Gefoltert, ganz gezielt
    Erniedrigen, Zermürben, Quälen,
    Brechen und Zerstören
Der Schmerz bohrt in die Seelen
Bis sie dem Teufel alles schwören
    Wir können es nicht ahnen
    Wir kennen nicht die Scham
    Pervers, brutal, grausam, sadistisch
    Was tun sich Menschen an
    Refrain: ...
