Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway

Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, often referred to simply as Saturday Night Takeaway or SNT, is a British television variety show presented and executively produced by Ant & Dec. The show was first broadcast on 8 June 2002 on ITV. It is broadcast live from The London Studios on the South Bank. The format was heavily influenced by previous Saturday night light entertainment shows, most notably Noel's House Party and Don't Forget Your Toothbrush, while individual items often pay homage to Saturday night TV of the past, such as Opportunity Knocks.

History

From its launch in 2002, the show was unbeaten for four series in its timeslot until scheduled against Doctor Who on BBC One in March 2005. On 10 September 2005, ITV had a programme listing the best 50 shows in ITV's 50 years being on air. Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway came second, being beaten by Coronation Street. The show went on hiatus in 2010 after its ninth series to allow Ant & Dec to launch family game shows Ant & Dec's Push the Button and Red or Black?. However, in November 2011, it was announced that Saturday Night Takeaway would return in early 2013.

10:15 Saturday Night

"10:15 Saturday Night" is a song by British post-punk band The Cure. It was the B-side to their single "Killing an Arab", as well as the opening track of their debut album, Three Imaginary Boys. It was also released in France as a single with the track "Accuracy" as the B-side. It has been performed live during most of their shows since its release, and was included in their live album Concert.

According to interviews in the booklet for the Deluxe Edition of Three Imaginary Boys, the demo to the song is what caught Chris Parry's attention in 1978 and led him to sign the band to his newly founded record company, Fiction. The track was written by Robert Smith at the age of 16 one evening while sitting at the kitchen table feeling "utterly morose" watching the tap dripping and drinking his dad's homemade beer. It was first performed as part of the Easy Cure set around the band's local area of Crawley.

Another possible influence for the song is the novel I Capture The Castle by Dodie Smith which features the opening line I write this sitting in the kitchen sink .

Saturday Night (Natalia Kills song)

"Saturday Night" is a song recorded by English singer-songwriter Natalia Kills for her second studio album, Trouble (2013). It was exclusively released to online media retailers as the album's second single on 28 June 2013, following the release of the promotional single "Controversy" and the album's lead single "Problem". Written by American record producer Jeff Bhasker and Kills, the song faces the themes of "squandered youth and disenchantment", and talks about moving on while going through a difficult time. Musically, it is a new wave-tinged, synth-based song.

Upon its release, critical response to "Saturday Night" was generally positive: contemporary music critics highlighted the lyrics' personal content and billed it as Kills' best song to date. "Saturday Night" was able to peak at number twenty-three at the singles chart of New Zealand, and reached the top 10 of the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs. Along with the single release, a music video directed by Guillaume Doubet was uploaded onto YouTube on 10 July 2013. Lyrically, it revolves around domestic abuse, drug addiction, and Kills' relationship with her parents.

Saturday Night (musical)

Saturday Night is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and the book by brothers Julius J. Epstein and Philip G. Epstein, based on their play, Front Porch in Flatbush. The musical was expected to open on Broadway in 1954-1955, but because of the lead producer's death, it was not produced. Following a student production, it was staged at the Bridewell Theatre, London in 1997 and then in Chicago in 1999 and Off-Broadway in 2000. The musical also ran in the West End in 2009.

Background

Saturday Night was scheduled to open in the 1954-55 Broadway season. Announcements of the production appeared in the New York Times, and auditions were held in mid-`55, following some revisions to the music brought about by backers' auditions. In the summer of `55, it appeared that Saturday Night would be Sondheim's musical debut on Broadway that fall. However, in August 1955, lead producer Lemuel Ayers died, leaving the production with little morale and even less cash. The production was scrapped, and the musical material shelved. Although a handful of songs from the musical have appeared in revues and on Sondheim compilation albums, the score as a whole went unperformed until 1997.

Who do you love?
Who do you really love?
Who are you holding on to?
Who are you dreaming of?
Who do you love?
When it's cold and it's starlight
When the streets are so big and wide
I love you
An ordinary girl
Can make the world alright
Love me all the way
Saturday night
Saturday night
Quarter to five
When the storefronts are closed in paradise
Meet me outside the Cherry Light
You and I walk away
An ordinary girl
Will make the world alright
She'll love me all the way
It's Saturday night, yeah, yeah
Ordinary girl
And all the coloured lights
She'll love me all the way
It's Saturday night
Saturday night
Love me wrong or right
Who do you love?
Who do you really love?
Who do you love?
Who do you really love?
Saturday night, yeah
Saturday night, yeah
Saturday night, yeah
Saturday night, yeah
I love an ordinary girl
She'll make the world alright
She'll love me and I know
Love is Saturday night
Alright, alright, alright
