Sarika Kapoor

Sarika Kapoor is an Indian playback singer who mainly performs Bollywood songs.

Career

Sarika started her career with the film Dance Dance (1987). She has sung almost 52 songs in a career spanning two decades. She last recorded for 2008 film Gumnaam:The Mystery.

Sarika Thakur, better known as Sarika, is an Indian actress.

Early life

Sarika Thakur was born in New Delhi, India and she is a half Marathi and half Rajput. Her father left the family when Sarika was very young. She became the bread winner of the family and was forced to work. She did not go to school. Her mother often abused her and forced her to work. At the peak of her career, her mother abused and thrashed her in public.

Career

Sarika started her film career as a child actor at age 4, playing the role of a boy,Master Sooraj, during the 1960s in Bollywood. Her most notable and popular appearance as a child artist was in the 1967 musical superhit Hamraaz where she was seen as the daughter of Vimi named baby/saarika. She appeared in many children's movies. Later She moved on to films with Rajshri Productions Geet Gaata Chal with Sachin, with whom she starred in many Hindi and Marathi films and is known to have had a brief affair as well. After their break-up, she got involved with actor and model Deepak Parashar, before she came into contact with Kamal Hassan, whom she worked with in Karishma.

Chhimba

The Chhimba are a Sikh clan. Their traditional occupation in the Samba district of India was dying and hand-printing calico fabric. It was probably some of these people who moved to areas of Himachal Pradesh, where they created a somewhat different style of printing cloth that was much favoured by the Gaddi people of the region.
