Sarangesa maculata is a butterfly in the Hesperiidae family. It is found in Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. The habitat consists of wooded savanna.
The larvae feed on Asystasia gangetica.
The Wych Elm cultivar Ulmus glabra 'Maculata' was described by Audibert, (Tonelle, Tarascon, France), in 1832.
Audibert described the tree as having spotted leaves.
