Sarah Moore

Sarah Moore is a British television reporter, presenter and University academic.

Moore grew up in Redditch, Worcestershire, England and studied Philosophy at the University of Warwick. Whilst at University she competed nationally in Latin and Ballroom dancing. She then studied at Cardiff Journalism School, whilst at the same time gaining work experience as a weekend news editor for a radio station in Wolverhampton, where she produced and presented news bulletins. She undertook her course work placement at ITV Central.

Media career

Her media career began as a reporter and presenter in 2003, working for ITV Central, where she won two awards for an investigation into drug-rape. In 2006 she moved to ITV News working as a reporter, before in October 2006 moving to GMTV, where she covered stories in Europe, the Caribbean and the UK. In summer 2007 she became New York Correspondent for GMTV, a post she held until August 2010. Amongst other stories she reported from the campaign trail with Hillary Clinton in the 2008 U.S. Presidential Elections.

Sarah Moore (racing driver)

Sarah Moore (born 22 October 1993) is an English racing driver. She is most notable for winning the Ginetta Junior Championship in 2009, and for competing in the InterSteps Championship in 2011. She was awarded the Rising Star status by the British Racing Drivers' Club in 2009. Moore was the first female racing driver to win a TOCA-sanctioned race, and the first to win a mixed-gender, national-level series in the UK.

Career

Moore, born in Harrogate, competed in the Rotax Mini Max class of the Stars of Tomorrow National Championship in 2007, finishing 24th. She also drove for Tockwith Motorsports in both the Ginetta Junior Championship and the Ginetta Junior Winter Championship. In the Ginetta Junior Championship, she entered the season finale at Brands Hatch, with her best result being 15th in the first race of the day. For 2008, she entered the BRDC Stars of Tomorrow MiniMax Championship, finishing 40th overall, but the Ginetta Junior Championship became her primary focus, as she competed in the full season for Tockwith Motorsports. She finished the season in 17th place, with her best race finish being a sixth place at Silverstone. She also entered the Ginetta Junior Championship Winter Series that year, finishing all four races on the podium, with one victory, and finishing as runner-up to Josh Hill.

Sarah Moore (The Family)

Sarah Moore, formerly known as Sarah Hamilton-Byrne (born 8 July 1969) is an Australian writer who spent her childhood in The Family, a new religious movement run by Anne Hamilton-Byrne, her adoptive mother. She was instrumental in getting the group investigated by the police in Victoria, Australia and later wrote a book about her experiences in The Family.

Early life and education

Moore's biological mother was an unmarried teenager who put her daughter up for adoption in 1969. Moore was adopted by Anne Hamilton-Byrne, a charismatic yoga teacher who gathered a number of followers around her who believed that she was the incarnation of Christ. Moore was meant to be one of the "inheritors of the earth" after a holocaust took place. Anne Hamilton-Byrne had many followers who worked in the medical and nursing professions, and who manipulated the adoption process so that fourteen children were adopted by her. These children—including Moore—were told that Anne Hamilton-Byrne was their biological mother.

Sarah

Sarah or Sara (/ˈsɛərə/;Hebrew: שָׂרָה, Modern Sara, Tiberian Śārā ISO 259-3 Śarra; Latin: Sara; Arabic: سارا or سارة Sāra;) was the wife and half–sister of Abraham and the mother of Isaac as described in the Hebrew Bible and the Quran. Her name was originally Sarai. According to Genesis 17:15, God changed her name to Sarah as part of a covenant after Hagar bore Abraham his first son, Ishmael.

The Hebrew name Sarah indicates a woman of high rank and is translated as "princess" or "noblewoman".

In the Hebrew Bible

Sarah was the wife of Abraham, as well as being his half-sister, the daughter of his father Terah. Sarah was approximately ten years younger than her husband.

She was considered beautiful to the point that Abraham feared that when they were near more powerful rulers she would be taken away and given to another man. Twice he purposely identified her as being only his sister so that he would be "treated well" for her sake. No reason is given why Sarah remained barren (childless) for a long period of time. She was originally called "Sarai", which is translated "my princess". Later she was called "Sarah", i.e., "princess".

Sarah Jane Smith

Sarah Jane Smith is a fictional character played by Elisabeth Sladen in the long-running BBC Television science fiction series Doctor Who and two of its spin-offs. In the fictional universe of Doctor Who and its spin-offs, Sarah Jane is a dogged investigative journalist who first encounters alien time traveller the Doctor while trying to break a story on a top secret research facility, and subsequently becomes his travelling companion on a series of adventures spanning the breadth of space and time. After travelling with the Doctor in four seasons of the show they suddenly part ways, and after this she continues to investigate strange goings-on back on Earth. Over time, Sarah Jane establishes herself as a committed defender of Earth from alien invasions and other supernatural threats, occasionally reuniting with the Doctor in the course of her own adventures, all the while continuing to work as a freelance investigative journalist.

Sarah Jane is one of the Doctor's longest-serving companions, co-starring in 18 stories with the Third and Fourth incarnations of the Doctor, on the programme from 1973 to 1976 (seasons 11 – 14). She and robotic dog K-9 appear in the 1981 television pilot K-9 and Company. She returned in the 20th-anniversary Fifth Doctor story The Five Doctors (1983) and the 30th-anniversary story Dimensions In Time (1993). After the programme's revival in 2005, she appears in several episodes with the Tenth Doctor, and once with the Eleventh Doctor, and as the central character of her own series The Sarah Jane Adventures from 2007 to 2011.
