"Sara Smile" is a song written and recorded by the American musical duo Hall & Oates. It was released in January 1976 as the second single from their album Daryl Hall & John Oates. The song was the group's first Top 10 hit in the US, reaching number four on the Billboard Hot 100.
"Sara Smile" was the second single released from Hall & Oates' 1975 self-titled album for RCA Records. Co-written by both halves of the duo, it was Hall & Oates's breakthrough single, with a #4 peak on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in 1976. It was written about Hall's then-girlfriend, Sara Allen. The couple was together for almost 30 years before breaking up in 2001.
Nathan Brackett and Christian Hoard, in the Rolling Stone album guide, referred to the song as a "love bead ballad," and Steve Pond of the Los Angeles Times cited it as an example of the duo's R&B influences. Following the success of "Sara Smile," the Atlantic Records label re-released the duo's previous single, "She's Gone."
Sara Smile is the third studio album by American country music singer Jimmy Wayne. It was released on November 23, 2009 by Valory Music Group, an imprint of Big Machine Records. The album's title track is a cover of Hall & Oates' 1976 single, as well as the first single from it. Dann Huff, Mark Bright and Nathan Chapman produced the album.
Wayne co-wrote four of the album's tracks: "Just Knowing You Love Me," "Just Look at You," "I'll Never Leave You" and "Elephant Ears." The title track and lead-off single is a rendition of Hall & Oates' 1976 single, featuring backing vocals from the duo. Also included is the song "Things I Believe," which fellow country singer Keith Urban wrote with John Shanks, as well as "Belongs to You," previously released as a single by Canadian country band Emerson Drive on its 2009 album Believe. Additionally, "I'll Never Leave You" was a non-charting single released by Wayne to country radio in 2007, but was not included on a previous album.
After 7 is a R&B group founded in 1987 by brothers Melvin and Kevon Edmonds, and Keith Mitchell. The Edmonds brothers are the siblings of popular pop and R&B singer-songwriter-producer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds". Mitchell was long thought to be the cousin of Babyface's then-partner, songwriter-producer Antonio "L.A." Reid, however, this was actually set up as a marketing tool for the group and was actually incorrect.
After 7 is the self-titled debut album by After 7. The album was certified platinum by the RIAA on November 27, 1990 and spawned two #1 R&B hits, "Ready or Not" and "Can't Stop". They also reached #7 and #6 respectively, on the Billboard Hot 100.
You wont regret it
Lets make it happen right now
There's no one, no one like me
I've been told so many times before
And if it was true
I know he couldn't do you like I do
And do the things I do to you, yeah baby
You see, you see that I'm a special guy
I thought you knew everything
Before you got involved with me
You know that I'm the one to get the job done
Oh girl, I love you naturally
There should not be a doubt in your mind
I have to prove myself to you a thousand times
And if you want real love, then come with me
I wont do you wrong, I'll love you all night long
1-I'm all about love
2-it aint no joke
3-I can do you right
4-just stay the night
You wont regret it, let's make it happen right now (hook)
Soon and very soon, you should make that move
And if you don't somebody will take your place
But I do care
I feel I need to have you with me girl
You better take time and understand my wishes
But don't get confused with them
Oh I'm about lovin you and that's all I wanna do
I wanna take you to another level
There should not be a doubt in your mind
I have to prove myself to you a thousand times
And if you want real love
Then come with me
I wont do you wrong
I'll love you all night long
