Samsung SPH-M300

The Samsung SPH-M300 is a flip or clamshell style cell phone introduced in mid-2007 as a basic, low cost camera phone with limited multimedia capability for the North American market. The SPH-M300 is a personal digital assistant (PDA - as designated by the SPH model prefix) style handset with basic contact directory, notes, calendar, and other typical PDA functions and is also capable of rudimentary Web browsing, and SMS text messaging although it does not have a dedicated text keyboard.

Samsung (Hangul: 삼성; hanja: 三星; Korean pronunciation: [sʰamsʰʌŋ]) is a South Korean multinational conglomerate company headquartered in Samsung Town, Seoul. It comprises numerous subsidiaries and affiliated businesses, most of them united under the Samsung brand, and is the largest South Korean chaebol (business conglomerate).

Samsung was founded by Lee Byung-chul in 1938 as a trading company. Through extremely complicated ownership structure with some circular ownership it is a part of the chaebol Samsung Group, accounting for 70% of the group's revenue in 2012. It is the second world's largest information technology company by revenue. Samsung Electronics has assembly plants and sales networks in 80 countries and employs around 370,000 people. Since 2012, the CEO is Kwon Oh-Hyun.

Samsung has long been a major manufacturer of electronic components such as lithium-ion batteries, semiconductors, chips, flash memory and hard drive devices for clients such as Apple, Sony, HTC and Nokia.

In recent years, the company has diversified into consumer electronics. It is the world's largest manufacturer of mobile phones and smartphones fueled by the popularity of its Samsung Galaxy line of devices. The company is also a major vendor of tablet computers, particularly its Android-powered Samsung Galaxy Tab collection, and is generally regarded as pioneering the phablet market through the Samsung Galaxy Note family of devices.

Samsung has a long history of designing and producing systems on chip (SoCs) and has been manufacturing SoCs for its own devices as well as for sale to other manufacturers. The first Samsung SoC, the S3C44B0, was built around an ARM7 CPU which operated at 66 MHz clock frequency. Later, several SoCs (S3C2xxx) containing an ARM9 CPU were produced.
