Sam Anderson

Sam Anderson (born May 13, 1945) is an American actor. Best known for his roles as Sam Gorpley on Perfect Strangers, as dentist Bernard Nadler on Lost and as Holland Manners on Angel

Early life

Anderson was born in Wahpeton, North Dakota. He is a graduate of the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. During the 1970s, he taught drama at Antelope Valley College in Lancaster, California.

Career

Anderson is best known for his roles as mailroom supervisor Mr. Gorpley on Perfect Strangers, the lawyer Holland Manners on the first two seasons of Angel, the cardiologist Dr. Jack Kayson on the television series ER, and as dentist Bernard on Lost. He is also known as the assistant manager of the Hotel Royale in Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "The Royale", and as Mike Seaver's adversarial Principal DeWitt on Growing Pains. In addition, he was one of the recurring actors on various episodes ofWKRP in Cincinnati, playing various roles, including an immigration officer in the episode "The Americanization of Ivan". Anderson has guest-starred in Season 8 of NCIS as Walter Carmichael, a middle school teacher whose classroom becomes a crime scene when one of his students is kidnapped.

Sam Anderson (rugby league)

Sam Anderson (born 25 March 1991) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer. He primarily plays as a prop and lock. He previously played for the Penrith Panthers in the National Rugby League.

Playing career

Born in Newcastle, New South Wales, Anderson played his junior football for the West Maitland Reddogs and Kurri Kurri Bulldogs before being signed by the Newcastle Knights. He played for the Knights' NYC team in 2011. At the end of the 2011 season, Anderson was named the Knights' NYC Player of the Year and the Players Player of the Year.

In October 2011, Anderson was forced to decide on whether to sign with the Penrith Panthers or re-sign with the Knights. Phil Gould, the coaching director of the Panthers, offered an easier path to first-grade football with the loss of prop Petero Civoniceva. However, Wayne Bennett, the coach of the Knights, personally told Anderson that he was in his future plans for the Knights.

On 21 October 2011, Anderson re-signed with the Knights on a 1-year contract.

Sam Anderson is an American book reviewer and author. He is the critic at large for The New York Times Magazine. Prior to joining The New York Times Magazine, he was a book critic at New York Magazine. In 2007 he received the Balakian Award for Excellence in Criticism from the National Book Critics Circle.

He holds a master's degree from Louisiana State University.

Sam Anderson, born Anderson Samuel is a Tamil actor and internet celebrity. He played the lead in the Tamil movie Yaaruku Yaaro and became popular on the internet for his "feeble dance moves and feebler acting skills.".

He was born in Erode, Tamil Nadu and originally ran a courier delivery business, with an employee base of five in salem. Anderson was inspired by the Tamil film Chocolate, and decided to turn his life towards the cine industry.

Anderson played the lead role David, in the film Yaaruku Yaaro, produced by his uncle, and released in four theaters in Tamil Nadu. For the sake of the film, Anderson Samuel changed his name to Sam Anderson, and practiced acting, story-writing and dancing in front of a mirror.

Yaaruku Yaaro ran for 25 days in the 4 theaters released. The film was released in parts on YouTube, and "went viral" on the Internet. Anderson states "What is the secret of my success? It could be because everything went wrong in my first attempt" .
