Salim
Salim (also spelled Saleem or Selim or Slim, Arabic: سليم, properly transliterated as Salīm ) is a given name of Arabic origin meaning "safe" or "undamaged", related names are Selima, Salima, Saleemah, and Salma.
When transliterated, the name Salem (Arabic: سالم) can become indistinguishable in English, as the spelling Salim is also used, though with a long a and a short i sounds.

Abdul-Rehman Begi Saheb-Qiran (Ebdulrehman Begî Sahibqîran, Kurdish: عەبدولڕەحمان بەگی ساحێبقران) Famous by his pseudonym as Salim or Salem (Kurdish: سالم), he was born in 1800 in Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan, died 1866. He is one of the most significant classic Kurdish poets. He was the uncle of Nalî and the cousin of Kurdî, two famous poets. He died in 1866 in Sulaimany.
Salim's poems
The content of Salim's poems mainly consists of philosophy, mysticism and history. Most of his poems are in the form of Ghazal, but he has some quatrains(Ruba'is) and Qasidas. His poems are in Kurdish, Persian and Arabic. He is influenced by Hafez and Kalim Hamedani among Persian poets and Nali among the Kurdish poets. His poetry is meterical, he has used Hazaj meter in his poetry which is too suitable for Sorani poetry. There are many Persian and Arabic words in Salim's Kurdish poems.

Salim, Nablus
Salim (Arabic: سالم) is a Palestinian town in the northern West Bank, located six kilometers east of Nablus and is a part of the Nablus Governorate. Nearby towns include Deir al-Hatab to the northwest, Balata to the west and Beit Furik to the south. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), Salim had a population of approximately 5,100 inhabitants in 2006.
History
The village is ancient with foundations of houses. In 1882, traces of ruins, cisterns, a ruined tank, and a cemetery of rock-cut tombs were noted.
Salim dates back to the Middle Bronze Age. It was near the ancient Canaanite and later Israelite town of Shechem.
Ottoman era
In 1517, Salim was incorporated into the Ottoman Empire with the rest of Palestine. In 1596, it appeared in Ottoman tax registers as being in the Nahiya of Jabal Qubal of the Liwa of Nablus. It had a population of 42 households, all Muslim. The villagers paid taxes on wheat, barley, summercrops, olives, and goats or beehives, and a press for olives or grapes.
