SRS Labs, Inc. was a Santa Ana, California-based audio technology engineering company that specialized in audio enhancement solutions for wide variety of consumer electronic devices. Originally a part of Hughes Aircraft Company, the audio division developed the Sound Retrieval System technology, and in 1993 was separated off to form SRS Labs, Inc. In 1996 SRS Labs became a publicly traded company on Nasdaq, SRSL.
The company develops audio enhancement solutions and licenses those products to companies including Microsoft, Samsung Group, LG Group, Toshiba, Vizio, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Sony and ViewSonic.
In 2008, approximately 36 million SRS-equipped flat-panel TVs were shipped, representing a 30-percent estimated market share.
SRS Labs has more than three hundred consumer electronics manufacturing partners, and holds more than 150 patents for its technologies. SRS has also recently begun to manufacture its own products, including, MyVolume - Volume Leveling Adaptor, SRS iWOW for iTunes, SRS HD Audio Lab for PC, and SRS iWOW Adaptor for iPod.
Labs, labs, or LABS may carry the following meanings:
labs
, a function that calculates the absolute value of a long integer in the C programming languageC mathematical operations are a group of functions in the standard library of the C programming language implementing basic mathematical functions. All functions use floating point numbers in one manner or another. Different C standards provide different, albeit backwards-compatible, sets of functions. Most of these functions are also available in the C++ standard library, though in different headers (the C headers are included as well, but only as a deprecated compatibility feature).
Most of the mathematical functions are defined in math.h
(cmath
header in C++). The functions that operate on integers, such as abs
, labs
, div
, and ldiv
, are instead defined in the stdlib.h
header (cstdlib
header in C++).
Any functions that operate on angles use radians as the unit of angle.
Not all of these functions are available in the C89 version of the standard. For those that are, the functions accept only type double
for the floating-point arguments, leading to expensive type conversions in code that otherwise used single-precision float
values. In C99, this shortcoming was fixed by introducing new sets of functions that work on float
and long double
arguments. Those functions are identified by f
and l
suffixes respectively.
Labëria is a historic region that is roughly situated in Southern Albania. Its inhabitants are known as Labs (referred to as Albanian: sing: Lab, pl. Lebër, also dial. sing.: Lap in Albanian and Greek: Λιάπης, Liapis in Greek) and its boundaries reach from Vlorë to Himara in the south, to the Greek border near Sarandë, incorporating the Kurvelesh region of Gjirokastër District and extending east to the city of Tepelenë.
Labëria is culturally distinguishable from the rest of Albania in its traditions and folklore. The Labs were warlike pastoral people who lived mainly in the mountains of Kurvelesh, Progonat and Vlorë during the Ottoman invasion of Albania. However, due to mass migrations to urban areas following World War II, the population is now concentrated in the cities of Vlorë, Tepelenë, Gjirokastër and Sarandë.
Historically the Labs were followers of the Eastern Orthodox Christianity but many converted to Islam during Ottomon rule, with the bulk of conversion occurring in the 18th century. Conversions were especially intense during years of conflict between Orthodox Russia and the Ottoman Empire, during which some pressure was applied on Orthodox Christians by Ottoman rulers, including even low-scale forced conversion of villages, contradicting the official Ottoman tolerance for Christians. Additional reasons for conversion included discrimination and exploitation of Christians by Ottoman rulers, the previous patterns of conversion between different Christian sects and the diverse pre-Ottoman distribution of Christian faiths in the region (including Orthodoxy, Catholicism, Bogomolism and even Arianism), the poll tax which only Christians had to pay, the poverty of the church, the mass illiteracy of priests and the fact that the language of worship was not the Albanian vernacular. Tradition holds that a mass conversion of Labs occurred during a famine in which the bishops of Himara and Delvina refused to let the Labs break fast and drink milk.
SRS or SrS may stand for:
HD 192699 is a yellow subgiant star located approximately 214 light-years away in the constellation of Aquila. It has the apparent magnitude of 6.45. Based on its mass of 1.68 solar, it was an A-type star when it was a main-sequence. We report precision Doppler measurements of three intermediate-mass subgiants from Lick and Keck Observatories in Mount Hamilton (California) and Mauna Kea (Hawai'i), USA. All three stars show variability in their radial velocities consistent with planet-mass companions in Keplerian orbits. In April 2007, a planet was announced orbiting the star, together with HD 175541 b and HD 210702 b.

4 Arietis (abbreviated 4 Ari) is a star in the northern constellation of Aries, the ram. 4 Arietis is the Flamsteed designation. Its apparent magnitude is 5.86. It has an annual parallax shift of 11.85 ± 0.25 mas, which corresponds to a distance from Earth of 275 light-years (84 parsecs). It has an apparent visual magnitude of 5.86, making it visible to the naked eye from dark suburban skies. This is a B-type main sequence star with a stellar classification of B9.5 V. It has around 2.5 times the mass of the Sun and shines with 40 times the Sun's luminosity.
