Saskatchewan Polytechnic

Saskatchewan Polytechnic (formerly the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology or SIAST) is Saskatchewan's primary public institution for post-secondary technical education and skills training, recognized nationally and internationally for its expertise and innovation. Through program and course registrations, Saskatchewan Polytechnic serves 26,000 distinct students with programs that touch every sector of the economy. It operates campuses in Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina and Saskatoon, and provides a number of courses and programs through distance education.

History

The four schools that make up Saskatchewan Polytechnic started off as four individual schools. The Moose Jaw campus started off as the Saskatchewan Technical Institute in 1959. Saskatoon began as the Central Saskatchewan Technical Institute in 1963. Regina began as the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in 1972. Prince Albert began as the Northern Institute of Technology in 1986. In January 1988, The Institute Act and the Regional Colleges Act amalgamated Saskatchewan's technical institutes, urban community colleges and the Advanced Technology Training Centre to form the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST). The institution was named Saskatchewan Polytechnic on September 24, 2014.

"Kelsey" is a single by the group Metro Station released in September 2007 from their first album, Metro Station. It was re-released on March 17, 2009, after the success of "Shake It" and "Seventeen Forever".

The song was the band's third UK single, released on December 14, 2009, as a double A-side with a cover version of "Last Christmas".

The song was produced by Justin Pierre and Josh Cain from the band Motion City Soundtrack. Pierre also sings backing vocals on the song.

The song was written about Pierre's friend Kelsey Siemens.

Music video

The music video has all of the band members playing the song in split-screen. The band re-shot the video in May 2009 and made a whole new music video which was released on Teen Nick on October 2, 2009.

Kelsey (full name and dates of birth and death unknown) was an English cricketer. Kelsey's batting style is unknown.

Kelsey made a single first-class appearance for Sussex against Kent at the Royal New Ground, Brighton in 1829. Kent were dismissed for 96 in their first-innings, in response Sussex were dismissed for 77, with Kelsey being run out for a duck. Kent were dismissed for just 44 in their second-innings and in response Sussex made 66/8 to win the match by 2 wickets, with Kelsey scoring 7 runs in that innings, before being stumped by Ned Wenman, though off which Kent bowler is not recorded.

Campus (train)

The Campus was a passenger train operated by Amtrak between Chicago and Champaign, Illinois. The Chicago-Champaign corridor already saw two trains daily: the Shawnee (Chicago-Carbondale) and the Panama Limited (Chicago-New Orleans). The Campus made a round-trip Friday and Sunday, serving the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. A second train, the Illini, made a Friday trip. The Campus first appeared on the November 14, 1971, timetable, the first timetable Amtrak issued with its own numbers. Amtrak discontinued the Campus and Illini on March 5, 1972. Both trains had used Central Station, which Amtrak was abandoning; Amtrak judged that the additional 35–40 minutes necessary to serve Union Station made the schedule impractical. The Campus was the last passenger train to use Central Station.

Campus (TV series)

Campus is a semi-improvised British sitcom created by the team behind the comedy sketch show Smack the Pony and hospital-based sitcom Green Wing, led by Victoria Pile who acts as co-writer, producer and director. It is set in the fictitious Kirke University and follows the lives of the staff, in particular the power-crazed and callous vice chancellor Jonty de Wolfe (played by Andy Nyman), lazy womanising English literature professor Matt Beer (Joseph Millson) and newly promoted senior mathematics lecturer Imogen Moffat (Lisa Jackson).

Campus was first broadcast as a television pilot on Channel 4 on 6 November 2009, as part of the channel's Comedy Showcase season of comedy pilots. A full series was later commissioned and commenced airing on 5 April 2011, with the first episode being a re-shoot and expanded version of the pilot. When first broadcast many critics claimed it was too similar to Green Wing and that much of the humour was offensive. However, others praised the show's dark humour and surrealism.Campus was cancelled after one series due to poor TV ratings. Over the course of the first series (not including the pilot) the average ratings were 554,000 viewers per episode, or 2.99% of the total audience, which is below the Channel 4 average.
