SEAT León

The SEAT León (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈse.at leˈon]) is a hatchback small family car built by the Spanish car manufacturer SEAT since October 1998.

The first two León generations used two differing variants of the Volkswagen Group A platform, and shared many components with other Volkswagen Group cars. The third generation uses the Volkswagen Group MQB platform, also used by the Audi A3 Mk3, Volkswagen Golf Mk7 and Škoda Octavia Mk3.

First generation (Typ 1M; 1999–2005)

The initial SEAT León (Volkswagen Group Typ 1M), launched in 1999, available only as hatchback, and the related saloon version was known as the SEAT Toledo. It was based on the Volkswagen Group A4 (PQ34) platform and, as such, shared many components in common with other VW Group models such as the Volkswagen Golf Mk4, Bora and Audi A3. As SEAT's first C-segment model as part of the VW Group, the León Mk1 was marketed as a sportier and cheaper variant of the Golf. To reinforce the sporty image, the vehicle had slightly more aggressive looks. The more expensive versions were equipped with relatively more powerful internal combustion engines, along with firmer suspension to improve handling. In the interior, the dashboard was derived from that of the first-generation Audi A3.

León, Nicaragua

León is the second largest city in Nicaragua, after Managua. It was founded by the Spanish as Santiago de los Caballeros de León and rivals Granada, Nicaragua, in the number of historic Spanish colonial churches, secular buildings, and private residences. As of 2012, the city had an estimated population of 201,100. which increases sharply during university season with many students coming from other regions of Nicaragua. It is the capital and largest city of León Department.

León is located along the Río Chiquito, some 90 kilometres (56 miles) northwest of Managua, and some 18 km (11 miles) east of the Pacific Ocean coast. León has long been the political and intellectual center of the nation and its National Autonomous University of Nicaragua (UNAN) was founded in 1813, making it the second oldest university in Central America. León is also an important industrial, agricultural, and commercial center for Nicaragua, exporting sugar cane, cattle, peanut, plantain, and sorghum. The city has been home to many of Nicaragua's most noteworthy poets including Rubén Darío, Alfonso Cortés and Salomón de la Selva.

León, Guanajuato

León (Spanish pronunciation: [leˈon]) is a city and municipality in the Mexican state of Guanajuato. It is part of the macroregion of Bajío within the Central Mexican Plateau. It has a strong leather industry, offering shoes, boots, belts, jackets, and other leather accessories both to national and international markets.

In the 2015 preliminary census the National Institute of Statistics, Geography and Data Processing (INEGI) reported 1,578,626 people living in the municipality of León, and 1,887,703 in the metropolitan area of León making it the seventh most populous metropolitan area in Mexico. Although not the capital of the State, is considered the "Capital" for Social, Commercial and Government services. The municipality, of which Leon city is only a part, rose to 4th most populous nationwide.

Its first-class services and hotel industry make it one of the most important centers in Mexico with numerous opportunities for entertainment, gastronomy, leisure activities, arts and recreation. It is also considered one of the most environmentally friendly cities in Mexico and has a high number of cyclists, in part because of the integration a network of bike lanes into the SIT system.

León, Spain

León (/leɪˈɒn, -ˈoʊn/; Spanish: León [leˈon]; Leonese: Llión [ʎiˈoŋ]) is the capital of the province of León, located in the northwest of Spain. Its city population of 131,680 (2012) makes it the largest municipality in the province, accounting for more than one quarter of the province's population. Including the metropolitan area, the population is estimated at 494,451 (2012).

Founded as the Roman military encampment of the Legio VI Victrix around 29 BC, its standing as an encampment city was consolidated with the definitive settlement of the Legio VII Gemina from 74 AD. Following its partial depopulation due to the Umayyad conquest of the peninsula, León was revived by its incorporation into the Kingdom of Asturias. 910 saw the beginning of one its most prominent historical periods, when it became the capital of the Kingdom of León, which took active part in the Reconquista against the Moors, and came to be one of the fundamental kingdoms of medieval Spain. In 1188, the city hosted the first Parliament in European history under the reign of Alfonso IX, due to which it was named in 2010, by the professor John Keane, the King of Spain and the Junta of Castile and León, as the cradle of Parliamentarism, and the Decreta of León were included in the Memory of the World register by UNESCO in 2013. The city's prominence began to decline in the early Middle Ages, partly due to the loss of independence after the union of the Leonese kingdom with the Crown of Castile, consolidated in 1301.

Seat (Buttermere)

Seat or Seat (Buttermere) is a minor Fell in the English Lake District. It has a height of 561 m (1840 ft). Seat is a little overviewed mountain over-shadowed by Haystacks and High Crag. Seat is located next to Buttermere in the North Western Fells.

Topography

Seat is cushioned in-between Haystacks and High Crag in the North Western Fells. Seat itself has lots of Crags and the summitt is reasonable flat. At the bottom of Seat is Buttermere, Buttermere is a lake that was once joined with Crummock Water to the north. On the other side of Seat is Ennerdale Forest in the Ennerdale Valley. Seat's neighboring mountains include Fleetwith Pike, Haystacks, High Crag, High Stile, Red Pike and Dodd. Beyond Seat to the north west the land diminish towards the coastal plain of Cumberland.

Ascents

The most common ascent would be from the south end of Buttermere, From Gatesgarth Farm, cross the road from the Farm Car park and out towards the accent at the bottom of Haystacks. People would normally ascend Haystacks first then go on to Seat, then onto High Crag then High Stile, Red Pike, Dodd and then back alongside the lake back to the Farm. The other main ascent is the opposite, starting at the bottom of the lake from the village of Buttermere and up past Dodd to Red Pike then to High Stile, then High Crag, then finally onto Seat. Other ascents which are less common include the ascent via Scarth Gap from Ennerdale Forest.

Seat (legal entity)

In legal English, the seat of a corporation or organisation, as a legal entity, is the location of its headquarters. According to international and national procedural law, "specific legal actions with legal effect for and against the legal entity can be performed at the seat of this entity." However, "the term "seat" is sometimes also used in a broad sense without a specific legal meaning. In this case [it] only defines where an entity is located and does not mean that this location is a legal seat where specific juridical acts can be performed."

SEAT, S.A. (Spanish: [ˈse.at], Sociedad Española de Automóviles de Turismo) is a Spanish automobile manufacturer with its head office in Martorell, Spain. It was founded on May 9, 1950, by the Instituto Nacional de Industria (INI), a state-owned industrial holding company.

It is currently a wholly owned subsidiary of the German Volkswagen Group, as a member of the now-defunct Audi Brand Group (2002–2007), together with Audi and Lamborghini, and marketed as a car maker with a youthful sporty profile.
