TV channel 16/12 — is the only independent news TV channel in Kazakhstan.

Persecution of the Channel

The Kazakhstan’s authorities have repeatedly tried to stop the broadcasting of Channel 16/12. The Channel’s employees were intimidated, arrested, their offices were searched and the equipment needed for their work seized. Specifically, in 2014, officers of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan, along with law enforcement officers of Russia, burst into the office of the production company which was making videos for the TV Channel 16/12. They conducted a search, withdrew hard discs from the operating computers and took them away. Soon after that, a similar search was conducted in the Astana office of a company which was also making videos for the opposition channel. During the search, the equipment needed for their work was seized. Prior to this, Sanat Urnaliyev, journalist of TV Channel 16/12, and Viktor Gudz, the cameraman, were subjected to administrative arrest on a fake charge, along with a correspondent of Radio Azattyk, the Kazakh service of the Radio Liberty.

Scream (Six Flags)

Scream! is a tower ride at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, Texas and Six Flags New England in Agawam, Massachusetts. Designed by S&S Worldwide, Scream! shoots riders up in the air, drops them half of the way, brings them back up and drops them again. Both rides are nearly 20 stories high.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas

Scream at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, Texas opened on March 13, 1999, in the Rockville section of the park. It first opened with two towers, then on May 28, 1999, the third tower opened. It was the very first combo tower from S&S Power, combining the ride actions of both a Turbo Drop and Space Shot in one ride cycle. The ride was fabricated by Intermountain Lift, Inc.

Six Flags New England

Scream! at Six Flags New England in Agawam, Massachusetts opened in 1998, in the Main Street section as Hellevator, as painted red. Then in 2000 they expanded the ride to feature two more towers and painted the ride white. The two new towers can feature a Turbo Drop, Space Shot, and Double Shot modes, while the original tower can only operate the Turbo Drop mode.

Scream is the third studio album by Swedish synthrock band Melody Club. It was first released on November 8, 2006.

Scream (Sarah Bettens album)

Scream is the first full-length solo album from Belgian rock musician Sarah Bettens. In 2004, Sarah released a five-track EP called Go. Four of the songs from Go were included on Scream; only "Grey" did not make the cut.

Scream was released in Europe on March 14, 2005, and in the United States on August 23, 2005.

Price channels

A price channel is a pair of parallel trend lines that form a chart pattern for a stock or commodity. Channels may be horizontal, ascending or descending. When prices pass through and stay through a trendline representing support or resistance, the trend is said to be broken and there is a "breakout".

Octophonic sound

Octophonic sound is a form of audio reproduction that presents eight discrete audio channels using eight speakers. For playback, the speakers may be positioned in a circle around the listeners or in any other configuration. "Typical arrangements are eight spaced on a circle by 45° (oriented with first speaker 0° or at 22.5°), or the vertices of a cube to bring in a double quadraphonic set-up with elevation" (Collins 2010, 60). In reference to his own work, Karlheinz Stockhausen made a distinction between these two forms, reserving the term "octophonic" for the arrangement in a cube, as found in his Oktophonie and the electronic music for scene 2 and the Farewell of Mittwoch aus Licht, and using the expression "eight-channel sound" for the circular arrangement, as used in Sirius, Unsichtbare Chöre, or Hours 13 to 21 of the Klang cycle (Stockhausen 1993, 150; Stockhausen 2000, 60). While quadraphonic sound uses four speakers positioned in a square at the four corners of the listening space (either on the ground or raised above the listeners), this cubical kind of octophonic spatialization allows not only front-back and left-right "surround sound", but also up-down and diagonal movements—a 3D spatialization of sound. In order for such movement in space to be heard, it is necessary that rhythms be slow, and pitches change mainly in small steps or in glissandos (Stockhausen 1993, 151, 163).

7.1 surround sound

7.1 sound is the common name for an eight-channel surround audio system commonly used in home theatre configurations. It adds two additional speakers to the more conventional six-channel (5.1) audio configuration. As with 5.1 surround sound, 7.1 surround sound positional audio uses the standard front, center, and LFE (subwoofer) speaker configuration. However, whereas a 5.1 surround sound system combines both surround and rear channel effects into two channels (commonly configured in home theatre set-ups as two rear surround speakers), a 7.1 surround system splits the surround and rear channel information into four distinct channels, in which sound effects are directed to left and right surround channels, plus two rear surround channels. In a 7.1 surround sound home theatre set-up, the surround speakers are placed to the side of the listener's position and the rear speakers are placed behind the listener. In addition, with the advent of Dolby Pro Logic IIz and DTS Neo:X, 7.1 surround sound can also refer to 5.1 surround sound configurations with the addition of two front height channels positioned above the front channels or two front wide channels positioned between the front and surround channels.
