Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia (i/ˌsɔːd əˈrbiə/, i/ˌs-/), officially known as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), is an Arab state in Western Asia constituting the bulk of the Arabian Peninsula. With a land area of approximately 2,150,000 km2 (830,000 sq mi), Saudi Arabia is geographically the second-largest state in the Arab world after Algeria. Saudi Arabia is bordered by Jordan and Iraq to the north, Kuwait to the northeast, Qatar, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates to the east, Oman to the southeast, and Yemen to the south. It is the only nation with both a Red Sea coast and a Persian Gulf coast, and most of its terrain consists of arid inhospitable desert or barren landforms.

The area of modern-day Saudi Arabia formerly consisted of four distinct regions: Hejaz, Najd, and parts of Eastern Arabia (Al-Ahsa) and Southern Arabia ('Asir). The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was founded in 1932 by Ibn Saud. He united the four regions into a single state through a series of conquests beginning in 1902 with the capture of Riyadh, the ancestral home of his family, the House of Saud. The country has since been an absolute monarchy, effectively a hereditary dictatorship governed along Islamic lines. The ultra-conservative Wahhabism religious movement within Sunni Islam has been called "the predominant feature of Saudi culture", with its global spreading largely financed by the oil and gas trade. Saudi Arabia is sometimes called "the Land of the Two Holy Mosques" in reference to Al-Masjid al-Haram (in Mecca), and Al-Masjid an-Nabawi (in Medina), the two holiest places in Islam. The Kingdom has a total population of 28.7 million, of which 20 million are Saudi nationals and 8 million are foreigners.

"We are dealing with people who have a tendency to blow themselves up and it we know they have a significant number of weapons and explosives,"
"All the dynamics are pulling the country apart, ... bring other countries in the region into the conflict."
"Every WTO member country has the right to stop dealing with a member country for reasons related to national security and international relations,"
"the United States is the only country that can play a pivotal role."
"lifeblood to the evil cult of hate."
"Saudi Arabia-based and funded organizations remain a key source for the promotion of ideologies used by terrorists and violent extremists around the world to justify their hate-filled agenda."
"[A]s of July 2005, this commission was not yet fully operational, according to Treasury."
"[He claimed that the report was] harsher ... Iran has a better religious freedom record than Saudi Arabia - there are churches and synagogues and ... non-Muslim celebrations on Iranian TV."
"The reported news of an armament deal valued at over $70 billion between the kingdom and Britain is not correct. This figure is much higher than what was agreed upon."

Prohibition

by: Zoetrope

In an abandoned warehouse late at night in the shipping yards
The gangsters keep a watchful eye for the man in blue
As a loaded semi pulls up to an empty dock
The rear door opens to reveal the demon alcohol
CHORUS:
Restriction drinking's against the law
Prohibition the demon alcohol
A heavy profit's to be turned on this mountain dew
But if you're caught you might get killed or thrown in jail
But what's the fuss it's soon to be legal anyway
So you may as well go with the flow of things to come
CHORUS
What you see is what you get on a one shot deal
So make it now and worry later about the end result
When the loaded semi pulls up to the empty dock
You'll get another week's supply of alcohol
