A mod is a festival of Scottish Gaelic song, arts and culture. Historically, the Gaelic word mòd (Scottish Gaelic: [mɔːt̪]) refers to any kind of assembly. There are both local mods, and an annual national mod, the Royal National Mòd. Mods are run under the auspices of An Comunn Gàidhealach. The term comes from a Gaelic word for a parliament or congress in common use during the Lordship of the Isles.
A Mod largely takes the form of formal competitions. Choral events (in Gaelic, both solo and choirs), and traditional music including fiddle, bagpipe and folk groups dominate. Spoken word events include children and adult's poetry reading, storytelling and Bible reading, and categories such as Ancient Folk Tale or Humorous Monologue. Children can also present an original drama, and there are competitions in written literature.
Unlike the National Mòd, local mods usually only last a day or two. They attract a much smaller crowd and the only notable social event is the winners' ceilidh. As there are fewer competitions than in the National, this ceilidh is often more like a traditional ceilidh with dancing and guest singers between the winners' performances.

"Runaway" sung by Sahlene was the Eurovision 2002 entrant for that year's host nation, Estonia.
The song is an upbeat number with English lyrics which advise the narrator's "babe" to be more open minded in his life's vision: "just runaway to the stars/ I'll be waiting above". The resemblance of the melody of "Runaway" to that of "I Believe I Can Fly" was much noted: Alar Kotkas, co-writer of "Runaway", stated: "I know the two songs are similar" but denied any plagiarism.
The studio recording of "Runaway" was produced by Erik Bernholm: the background vocals were performed by Sahlene with one of her Eurovision backing vocalists Lena Olsson-Björkén. "Runaway" was Sahlene's only release on Virgin Records: the track made its album debut on her 2003 album release It's Been a While (M&L Records).
The song's composers Pearu Paulus, Ilmar Laisaar and Alar Kotkas (music) and Jana Hallas (lyrics), had previously written "Once In A Lifetime" the Estonian entrant for Eurovision 2000 performed by Ines and Ines was at first set to perform the song. However Ines withdrew shortly before Eurolaul 2002 - the Estonian preselection Eurovision round - and the song's composers, after unsuccessfully shopping their song to a number of Estonian singers including Koit Toome - contacted the Swedish division of Virgin Records who suggested Sahlene who was on the Virgin roster: on the evening of the same day Sahlene received a telephone call from Virgin Records and resultantly flew out to the Estonian capital of Tallinn at 6 a.m. the following morning. Sahlene had two weeks to work with the song's composers prior to performing "Runaway" in Eurolaul.

"Run Away" is a song performed by SunStroke Project and Olia Tira, and represented Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 in May 2010 in Oslo, Norway. The song won the final of the O melodie pentru Europa 2010, that took place on 6 March. It gained the maximum number of points from both the juries and the televotes.
In the contest, it was performed first on the night of the first semi-final, preceding Russia's Lost and Forgotten and passed to the final. The inspiration for the "Epic Jazz Jive" came from observing ducks, waddling through sand, on the beach.
After the contest, "Run Away" would also become the subject of a major internet meme surrounding the saxophone solos performed by saxophonist Sergey Stepanov, who in a phenomenon similar to Rickrolling and Trololo, was dubbed the "Epic Sax Guy" in videos on YouTube. The rules of the contest prohibited musical instruments being played on stage, meaning Stepanov was not actually playing the saxophone at all, but rather synchronising movements with a prerecorded track.
You should've told me
That your heart wasn't in it anymore
You could've told me
That I would be in this all alone
Was your kiss a waste of time
Were your words just a lie
I wish I would've known that your love wasn't here
I can't think about it
Care about it gotta turn the page
I was so game before you, cool without you
It's on to better days
I can move on and close the door
Do it all you showed me just who you are
It'd be stupid to stay here everyday
Go ahead just Run Away
(Run Away, Run Away, Run Away,
Run Away, Run Away, Run Away,
Run Away, Run Away, Run Away,
Run Away, Run Away, Run Away,
Run Away)
Now that it's over
Gotta put my life back together again
I'm movin forward
Don't know where I'm going
Just can't turn back now
I got nothing left to give
Cause you took the best of me
I wish I would've known that your love wasn't here
I can't think about it
Care about it gotta turn the page
I was so game before you, cool without you
It's on to better days
I can move on and close the door
Do it all you showed me just who you are
It'd be stupid to stay here everyday
Go ahead just Run Away
(Run Away, Run Away, Run Away,
Run Away, Run Away, Run Away,
Run Away, Run Away, Run Away,
Run Away, Run Away, Run Away,
