Route nationale 165
The Route nationale 165 is a highway in western France. It connects the towns of Brest and Nantes. It is also numbered European Route 60. The majority of the route is autoroute standard.
Route
The road commences at Brest docks passing the visitor attractions Oceanopolis and Botanical Gardens. Thereafter the road turns south crossing the River Elom on a modern bridge the Pont de l'Iroise. The older Pont A. Louppe now closed to vehicular traffic lies on the seaward side.
The road passes the town of Plougastel Daoulas and alongside the coast (a series of submerged valleys) in the Parc Naturale D'Armorique. The road passes the town of Châteaulin and a junction with the N164 to Rennes and the N12. The former route taken by the N165 is now numbered by the RD770. The road enters the town of Quimper crossing the river Odet. The road now forms the towns eastern by-pass.
The road continues south east with the old road now the RD783 to the south and after the town of Quimperlé it becomes the RD765 where the road crosses the River Laïta. The road passes the Airport of Lann-Bihoué and forms the northern by-pass for Lorient over the Rivers Scorff and Blavet past Hennebont and a junction with the N24 to Rennes. The old road continues as the RD765 through the town centre of Lorient and Hennebont rejoining the new road after Landévant.
Route nationale 22
The Route nationale 22 (RN22) is a highway in southern France, connecting l'Hospitalet-près-l'Andorre to Pas de la Casa in the Principality of Andorra. On the French side of the border at Pas de la Casa, the RN22 also connects to the Envalira Tunnel (Catalan: Túnel d'Envalira), which is an alternative route into Andorra avoiding the Envalira Pass (Catalan: Port d'Envalira).
The road is a branch of the N20, and runs parallel to the RN320 which crosses Col de Puymorens. The roads follow the same route for a few kilometers.
This road has only been called the RN22 since 1975 when there was a general downgrading of the road network, before which it was called the NR20b. Formerly, RN22 was a section of the current trunk road N11 between Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon with the La Rochelle and a section in La Rochelle to the Port de la Pallice and the landing stage of the ferry to the L'île de Ré.
In winter, avalanches sometimes close the continuation of the road below Col de Puymorens — the N20.
Route nationale 177
The RN177 is a trunk road (nationale) in France linking Pont-l'Évêque and Trouville-sur-Mer. The road is in fact a section of the former RN834. The RN177 was until the 1972 reclassification scheme a link between Villers-Bocage and Redon.
The old RN177 was declassified into RD577 in Calvados, RD977 in Manche and RD177 in Ille-et-Vilaine. The RN177 has since 2006 been declassified into the RD677.
In a strange move by the Calvados DDE, drivers wishing to reach Deauville and the Côte Fleurie are advise not to use the trunk road but to use the single carriageway RD27A that follows a similar course along the Lisieux-Deauville railway line. Weekend tourists are often caught in traffic jams on the A132 while wanting to join the RN177 as well as at Bonneville-sur-Touques roundabout where several départementales converge. It is also at that location that the gendarmerie sets up speed cameras and alcohol control.
Route
The road is bypassed by the A132 between Pont-l'Évêque and Canapville where the RN177 crosses several départementales and two level crossings. The section between the Bonneville-sur-Touques roundabout (where it meets the RD17 to Caen) and Deauville is a dual carriageway. The RN177 ends at a roundabout next to the gare de Trouville-Deauville where it meets the RD513.
Route nationale 202
The Route nationale 202 is a 114 km (71 mi) trunk road (nationale) in France between the Côte d'Azur and the winter sports resort towns in the southern Alps.
