Rocket (2015 film)

Rocket (Kannada: ರಾಕೆಟ್) is a 2015 Kannada romantic comedy film written and directed by Shiva Shashi, produced by and co-starring Sathish Ninasam, alongside Aishani Shetty in the lead roles.Achyuth Kumar, Sundar Raj, Padmaja Rao, Ninasam Ashwath and Rashri Ponnappa feature in supporting roles.

Plot

The movie is a romantic comedy. The main lead of the movie, Rakesh (Sathish Ninasam), falls in love with Shwetha (Aishani Shetty), and goes through a romantic journey. He faces a lot of hurdles in the journey and overcomes those hurdles forms the crux of the story.

The shooting of the movie commenced in December 2014 and finished in July 2015. The movie has been shot in Bangalore and some locations of Coorg.

Soundtrack

The music of the movie has been composed by Poornachandra Tejaswi of Lucia fame. The movie has five songs, one of the which has been sung by Kannada film actor Puneeth Rajkumar. Apart from known voices it also has voices from a pool of new Kannada singers.

Lubrication theory

In fluid dynamics, lubrication theory describes the flow of fluids (liquids or gases) in a geometry in which one dimension is significantly smaller than the others. An example is the flow above air hockey tables, where the thickness of the air layer beneath the puck is much smaller than the dimensions of the puck itself.

Internal flows are those where the fluid is fully bounded. Internal flow lubrication theory has many industrial applications because of its role in the design of fluid bearings. Here a key goal of lubrication theory is to determine the pressure distribution in the fluid volume, and hence the forces on the bearing components. The working fluid in this case is often termed a lubricant.

Free film lubrication theory is concerned with the case in which one of the surfaces containing the fluid is a free surface. In that case the position of the free surface is itself unknown, and one goal of lubrication theory is then to determine this. Surface tension may then be significant, or even dominant. Issues of wetting and dewetting then arise. For very thin films (thickness less than one micrometre), additional intermolecular forces, such as Van der Waals forces or disjoining forces, may become significant.

Rock Island Rockets (1937)

The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad Rockets were lightweight, streamlined diesel-electric passenger trains built by the Budd Company. These six trains were the first streamlined equipment purchased by the Rock Island, as well as being its first diesel-powered passenger trains. Four of the trains consisted of 3 cars each, the other two each had 4 cars.

The stainless steel trains were each powered by an Electro-Motive Corporation model TA locomotive. Unlike many other early streamlined trains, the locomotives were not permanently attached to the trains.

The trains were partially articulated, however the observation cars were not articulated with the rest of the trainsets.

Rocket (Goldfrapp song)

"Rocket" is a synthpop song by English duo Goldfrapp from their fifth studio album, Head First. Written and produced by Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory, with additional production by Pascal Gabriel, the song was released as the album's lead single on 8 March 2010. To promote the single release, the duo performed the song on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross on 26 March 2010. The music video features Alison driving a truck hauling a rocket with someone entirely wrapped in duct tape who is then taped to the rocket when it is launched at the end.

The track was nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 2011 Grammy Awards, but lost to Rihanna's "Only Girl (In the World)".

Critical reception

"Rocket" was met with positive reviews from music critics. Heather Phares of Allmusic said that the song's "driving minor-key verses and huge, shimmering choruses tap into the brain's pleasure center as efficiently as possible", dubbing it one of Goldfrapp's most irresistible songs yet. Barry Nicolson from the NME described it as "a sleek, synth-powered ballistic missile that's high on Pat Benatar's hairspray and in possession of a chorus so cheesy and ebullient." DJ Ron Slomowicz of About.com wrote that the track "represents the best of the 80's and Goldfrapp's take on glitzy power pop. The energy is palpable and so is the vitriol as there is no mistaking Alison's intent, despite the soaring and beautiful melodies."Pitchfork Media's Marc Hogan commented that "Rocket" "shows Head First at its best, but it's also a reminder of where some of the other songs fall short."

Rocket (El Presidente song)

"Rocket" is the first single from El Presidente. It was a limited (1000 Copies) Red 10" vinyl release. The B-side was Rocket-Beef Music Mix. It reached number 37 on the UK Singles Chart.

Not much is known about when the song was recorded or who plays on it apart from Liam Nugent is credited as backing vocals, and Ross Galloway is credited as Synth's.

The video for the song, directed by Jonas Odell, cost around £20,000 to produce. The music video of the song is one of those available on the PlayStation Portable demo disc.

The song was used on football programmes on Sky Sports in the background when the matches that were being shown that week were said.

Re-issue

"Rocket" was re-released as El Presidente's fourth single on October 10, 2005, on CD and purple 7". With little airplay and television exposure, the single only scraped to number 48 in the singles chart, and the album that followed two weeks later reached number 57.

There was no new video shot for this re-release; the original "Rocket" video directed by Jonas Odell was re-edited.
