Bad Boy (brand)

Bad Boy is an American alternative sport and lifestyle brand. They are notable for their presence in both fashion and performance equipment.

About

Bad Boy provides action sport and combat sport athletes with performance products and apparel. They first began producing T-shirts and shorts for local surfers, skaters and motocross riders in San Diego, CA in the early eighties. In the nineties Bad Boy launched a combat sports line, starting with their sponsorship of Rickson Gracie, son of the legendary founder of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Helio Gracie, for a seminar that he was giving in Rio de Janeiro. The seminar made the cover story in a national magazine and the cover photo featured Rickson wearing a Bad Boy gi. As Jiu Jitsu continued to grow in Brazil, Bad Boy continued to sponsor both the Gracies and Jiu Jitsu tournaments.

Other martial art academies in Brazil, most notably Luta Livre, took notice of the success and popularity of Jiu Jitsu and a war of words began, wherein Jiu Jitsu was denounced as a fad and not as effective as was publicized. In order to settle the debate, the first Mixed Martial Arts tournaments, then called Vale Tudo, sprung up throughout Brazil and Bad Boy was first in line to support the sport.

Bad Boy (comics)

Bad Boy is a one-shot comic book by Frank Miller and Simon Bisley. It was published by American company Oni Press in 1999, as a 44-page prestige format comic book.

It was republished in July 2008 in hardcover format by Dynamite Entertainment with two covers, one by Bisley and the other by Miller.

Bad Boy follows the story of Jason, a young boy who comes to realize that the couple he thinks are his parents are not his parents at all, and his world is not what it seems to be.

Rock On !! is a 2008 Indian rock musical drama film written and directed by Abhishek Kapoor, produced by Farhan Akhtar, and with music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The film marks the successful Bollywood debut of Farhan Akhtar and Prachi Desai.

Arjun Rampal, Farhan Akhtar, Luke Kenny, and Purab Kohli star as members of the Mumbai-based grunge rock band, "Magik" (formed in 1998) who reunite in 2008. The winner of seven Filmfare awards, Rock On was critically acclaimed but had an average performance at the box office. The cast of Rock On was featured on the cover of the September 2008 issue of Rolling Stone (India). Its screenplay has also been added to the Academy Film Archive.

    Plot

Rock On begins in Mumbai, with the rock band Magik, in 1998. Joseph (Joe) Mascarhenas (Arjun Rampal) is the lead guitarist who feels necessity to prove his worth as a musician. Aditya Shroff (Farhan Akhtar) is the lead singer who rebelled against his well to-do family to play music. Rob Nancy (Luke Kenny) who plays keyboards and Kedar Zaveri a.k.a. KD/"Killer Drummer" (Purab Kohli) comprise the remainder of the band. After a competition is announced by Channel V, they decide to enter, as the winner will be offered an album and one music video.

    Rock On!! (soundtrack)

Rock On!! is the soundtrack to the 2008 Hindi film of the same name directed by Abhishek Kapoor, starring Arjun Rampal, Farhan Akhtar, Purab Kohli and Luke Kenny. The original score and songs were composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The songs' lyrics were written by Javed Akhtar.

The album was released on 7 July 2008. by Big Music Despite a cold reception from the critics, the album became a cult favourite selling over 120,000 copies in India.

    Overview

The movie's songs were composed in five days. Since the movie is about a rock band, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy composed the music in a similar fashion, with the drums and bass set-up and played live to the recorder without any programming. All songs were mixed by Vijay Benegal.

"Pichle Saat Dinon Mein", a song about how one loses everything but cannot afford to lose love, was the first song composed, jammed on the guitar riff that Ehsaan Noorani came up with completed in about 20 minutes. This was followed by "Socha Hai" and the title track "Rock On!!". These were sung by Farhan Akhtar in his first singing role. "Yeh Tumhari Meri Baatein" is sung by Dominique Cerejo in an ambient genre. "Zehreelay", performed by Suraj Jagan, is hardcore metal, which is often a rarity in mainstream Bollywood soundtracks.

    Rock On! (Del Shannon album)

Rock On! is the 12th studio album by American rock singer Del Shannon, released posthumously in 1991. Shannon returned to the studio after a long hiatus in 1990, collaborating with Jeff Lynne of the Electric Light Orchestra, Mike Campbell, Tom Petty, other members of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Richard Greene. Bad Boy

    by: Ringo Starr

    I'm just a bad boy
All dressed up in fancy clothes
    I'm taking the trouble
    To blow my bubbles away
    Bad boy
Life is just a bowl of cherries
    I'm taking the trouble
To turn my night into day
    The hot blazing sun
    Won't hurt my head
    'Cause you'll always find me
    Right there in the shade
I can see all the folks
    They're laughing at me
'Cause I'm just a naturally, crazy, lazy
    Bad boy
Life is just a bowl of cherries
    I'm taking the trouble
To turn my night into day
    The hot blazing sun
    Won't hurt my head
    'Cause you'll always find me
    Right there in the shade
I can see all you folks
    You're laughing at me
'Cause I'm just a naturally, crazy, lazy
    Bad boy
All dressed up in these fancy clothes
    And I'm taking the trouble
    To blow my bubbles away
