Robin Hardy may refer to:

Robin Hardy (film director)

Robin St. C. Hardy (born 2 October 1929) is an English author and film director. His most famous directorial work was The Wicker Man, and his most recent project is a film adaptation of his novel Cowboys for Christ, which has been retitled as The Wicker Tree. Hardy now lives in London and Somerset.

In addition to Cowboys for Christ, Hardy has published a novelization of The Wicker Man, as well as the novel The Education of Don Juan.

Robin Hardy (Canadian writer)

Robin Clarkson Hardy (July 12, 1952 - October 28, 1995) was a Canadian journalist and author.

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Ottawa, Ontario, Hardy studied creative writing at the University of Alberta and took a law degree at Dalhousie University before settling in Toronto, where he was a staff writer and editor of The Body Politic, a noted early Canadian gay magazine. He also produced radio documentaries for CBC Radio, contributed to publications including NOW, Canadian Forum and Fuse, and was an activist for and the first paid staff member of the Coalition for Lesbian and Gay Rights in Ontario.

He moved to New York City in 1984, where he was an editor for Cloverdale Press and a founding member of Publishing Triangle. He also wrote numerous young adult, science fiction, mystery and horror novels, primarily under pen names; Call of the Wendigo (1994) was the only novel he published under his own name. He was also a freelance contributor to publications including The Advocate, Village Voice and Penthouse in this era.

Robin Hardy (American writer)

Robin Moore Hardy (born 1955) is the author of more than twenty published books and several unpublished manuscripts. She currently resides in North Texas. Her first novel, Chataine's Guardian, was the runner-up for the Gold Medallion Book Award in 1985.

Early life

Robin Moore was born in Fort Worth, Texas in January 1955. When she was seventeen, a severe sinus infection rendered her profoundly deaf in both ears. After high school, she moved to Waco to attend college at Baylor University, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 1977. Shortly thereafter she was employed as an editor with Word Publishing. Moore married in 1976, but did not have children until after her mother died from colon cancer in 1978. After the birth of her first child in 1981 Moore became a homemaker, and this gave her the impetus to become a story-teller.
