Robin's Nest

Robin's Nest is a British sitcom starring Richard O'Sullivan as Robin Tripp, one of the lead characters in the sitcom, Man About the House, which had ended on 7 April 1976. Robin's Nest aired for six series from 11 January 1977 to 31 March 1981, and co-starred Tessa Wyatt as Robin's girlfriend - and later wife - Vicky, and Tony Britton as her father. It was made by Thames Television and aired on network ITV.

Format

In the first episode Robin and Vicky, who share a flat over a Chinese take-away, discover that the tenants have disappeared owing rent to the landlord, Vicky's father James Nichols. It is the practical Vicky who comes up with the perfect solution: Robin should take over the take-away and convert it into a bistro (The "Robin's Nest" of the title). Robin cannot afford to go it alone so he has to go cap-in-hand to Vicky's father, James Nicholls (Tony Britton), to ask him to be his business partner. Although Nicholls disapproves of Robin (believing him to be beneath his daughter), he knows a sensible business deal when it is offered to him – despite his failings, Robin is a brilliant chef – and he agrees. Lots of tension and misunderstandings are to arise from their mismatched relationship.

Robin's Nest (Hong Kong)

Robin's Nest (Chinese: 紅花嶺; Jyutping: Hung4 Faa1 Leng5 (former name:麻雀嶺)) is a hill located in northeastern Hong Kong , south of the border between Hong Kong and Shenzhen in the New Territories. Robin's Nest is the 55th tallest hill in Hong Kong.

The name Hung Fa Leng (紅花嶺) does not translate directly as 'Robin's Nest' but as 'Red Flower Ridge'.

Magnum, P.I. is an American crime drama television series starring Tom Selleck as Thomas Magnum, a private investigator living on Oahu, Hawaii. The series ran from 1980 to 1988 in first-run broadcast on the American CBS television network.

According to the Nielsen ratings, Magnum, P.I. consistently ranked in the top twenty U.S. television programs during the first five years that the series was originally broadcast in the United States.

Premise

Thomas Sullivan Magnum IV, a private investigator, played by Tom Selleck, resides in the guest house of a posh, 200-acre (81 ha) beachfront estate, known as Robin's Nest, in Hawaii, at the invitation of its owner, Robin Masters, the celebrated-but-never-seen author of several dozen lurid novels. Ostensibly this is quid pro quo for Magnum's services based upon Magnum's expertise in security; the pilot and several early episodes suggest Magnum also did Masters a favor of some kind, possibly when Masters hired him for a case. The voice of Robin Masters, heard only a few times per season, was provided by Orson Welles (one last "appearance" was provided by a different actor, Reid Crandell).

Robin S.

Robin Stone (born April 27, 1962), known professionally as Robin S., is an American singer and songwriter, who scored success in the 1990s with such hit singles as "Show Me Love" (which was her debut single and a number-one hit) and "Luv 4 Luv". She has had three number ones on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart.

Career

Robin S. was signed by Big Beat Records in 1993. Her debut single climbed the charts the same year, as did her first album, also titled Show Me Love. The song "Show Me Love" peaked at #1 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play, #1 on the Hot Dance Singles Sales, #7 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles and Tracks and #5 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also peaked at #4 on the Rhythmic Top 40 chart. The success earned her a spot on the 1994 "American Music Awards" as a performer. The follow-up singles, "Luv 4 Luv" and "What I Do Best", saw similar success. As of 2004, the album Show Me Love had sold 303,000 copies in the US.
