Robert Porter died at his home, Corio, Wharf Street, Kangaroo Point, Brisbane on 22 May 1902 aged about 66 or 67 years. He had been ailing for some time prior to his death. He was buried at Balmoral Cemetery (also known as Bulimba Cemetery).
