Robert Gillies may refer to:

Robert Gillies (musician)

Robert Bruce Gillies was a member of New Zealand band Split Enz between 1973 and 1974, and later between November 1975 and late 1977, playing the saxophone and the trumpet. He also helped out bandmate Noel Crombie with the direction of the band's stage performances and music videos.

After leaving Split Enz, he later became a production designer becoming involved in Xena: Warrior Princess, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys as well as Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.

Robert Gillies (New Zealand politician)

Robert Gillies (1835 – 15 June 1886) was a 19th-century Member of Parliament in the Otago Region, New Zealand.

He represented the Bruce electorate from 1884 until his resignation in 1885 for failing health.

He died on 15 June 1886 from an aneurysm of the heart. He was the brother of Thomas Gillies and John Lillie Gillies, and the father of surgeon Harold Gillies.

Robert Gillies (Australian politician)

Robert Towers Gillies (1876 – 26 July 1941) was an Australian politician.

He was born on the Paterson River to farmers Dugald and Mary Gillies. He attended public school at Pimlico and worked as a blacksmith. Around 1903 he married Mabel Elsie McKeever, with whom he had six children. He farmed at Cudgera from around 1908, before relocating to Tweed Heads around 1922, where he became a contributor to the Tweed Daily and a councillor from 1922 to 1925. In 1925 he was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly as one of the Labor members for Byron, but he was expelled in 1927 for his opposition to Jack Lang. He later joined the right-wing All for Australia League. After leaving politics he became a commercial agent in Fairfield and then at Lismore before returning to Tweed Heads around 1935. Gillies died at Tweed Heads in 1941.
