Rising Star Games

Rising Star Games is a video game publisher formed in 2004 as a joint business venture between Scandinavian distributor Bergsala and Japanese video game publisher and content developer Intergrow. The company is based in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, England while in North America is based in California, USA.

Its focus was to publish titles from Japanese companies for release in European, Australian and North American markets however now has a wider range of products from developers all over the world. So far, the company has published over 105 titles for Wii, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PC.

In late 2007, the company was surrounded with controversy over what appeared to be its decision to censor the European version of No More Heroes, though it was later revealed that the decision was made by its parent company and the developer Grasshopper Manufacture to release the censored version in Europe unlike what was released in North America.

Star Games

Star Games was a television series which ran in weekly syndication from September 7, 1985 to March 1, 1986. It featured teams of actors representing various American TV shows competing in sports events. The events the teams competed in included swim sprints and relays, kayaking, track sprints and relays, a bicycle relay, and an "Apache Relay" obstacle course.

The show ran for two sets of 13 episodes, or "seasons". The host throughout was former Olympic decathlon champion and actor Caitlyn Jenner (then Bruce).Pamela Sue Martin co-hosted for Season One, while Season Two had Morgan Brittany. Former American football player and actor Dick Butkus served as the show's "Special Referee".

The series was similar in presentation to Battle of the Network Stars, and debuted only four months after the 18th Special aired. The program was distributed by Viacom, now CBS Television Distribution.

Season One

The first season was won by a team representing Falcon Crest, with a team from General Hospital finishing second. Other strong-performing teams from the first season included Days of Our Lives, Still the Beaver, and a combined team from Fame/Gimme a Break!.

This helps the company allocate resources and is used as an analytical tool in brand marketing, product management, strategic management, and portfolio analysis. Analysis of market performance by firms using its principles has recently called its usefulness into question.

PS Rising Star

PS Rising Star was a paddle steamer warship, nicknamed the Rising Sun. It was a revolutionary design that included twin funnels and an internal retractable paddle wheel. She was the first ever British steam warship to cross the Atlantic from east to west, in 1821.

She was built in Rotherhithe for Thomas Cochrane (later tenth Earl of Dundonald). Cochrane, a Scot who had a very high reputation as a superior seaman, aimed to construct a warship that would eliminate the differences in capability between the Chilean and the Spanish naval forces. Cochrane intended the vessel to be used as a steam warship within the Chilean War of Independence. He made efforts to conceal the ship's real purpose, to be used to sail to the North Pole.

She was driven by a centerline paddle wheel powered by engines of 70 n. h. p., of twin cylinders which were constructed by Maudslay and Sons and Field.

Cochrane was excited about the prospect of a ship that did not have to depend on the wind for power and he contributed ₤3000 of his own money into the venture. Edward Ellice, a South-America trader, supplied ₤4000.
