Ricky Brown

Richard Gerald Brown (born December 27, 1983) is an American football linebacker who is currently a free agent. He was signed by the Ravens as an free agent in 2012. He played college football at Boston College.

He has also been a member of the Oakland Raiders and the New England Patriots.

Early years

Brown played football for Cincinnati Elder High School, where he played safety. Brown also ran track. Brown went on to win the 100m, 200m and 400m Greater Catholic League track titles in 2002.

College career

Brown played college football at Boston College, where he played Linebacker. During his freshman year, 2002, Brown was a member of The Sporting News Big East All-Rookie Team. In 2005, Brown was a member of the ACC All-Academic Team. He was the winner of the 2005 Scanlan Award, an award given by the Boston College Varsity Club Award to the senior football player outstanding in scholarship, leadership, and athletic ability.

Professional career

Oakland Raiders

An undrafted free agent in 2006, Brown made a good impression with the Oakland Raiders during training camp and made it to the Raiders' practice squad. He was put on the active roster for the Week 5 game against the San Francisco 49ers when the Oakland Raiders waived J. P. Foschi to make room for Brown. Brown went on to play in the remaining 13 games of the 2006 season.

Ricky Brown (tennis)

Ricky Brown (born April 1, 1967) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. He is the younger brother of another professional player Jimmy Brown.

Career

Brown was the top ranked American junior for the 16's age division in 1983 and the following year won an Orange Bowl title (18 and under). He and partner Robbie Weiss were boy's doubles champions at the 1984 Wimbledon Championships. They defeated Mark Kratzmann and Jonas Svensson in the final. Brown made his only Grand Slam appearance at the 1984 US Open, where he defeated former Australian Open winner Mark Edmondson in the opening round, before being eliminated in the second round by Henrik Sundström. He won a Challenger doubles title at Winnetka in 1985.

Ricardo Brown (basketball)

Ricardo Vidal "Ricky" Brown (born May 22, 1957) is a former Filipino-American professional basketball player. His monikers were The Quick Brown Fox and Mister Fourth Qwerty.

Collegiate and amateur career

Brown played college ball at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, where he was All-West Coast his Junior and Senior years, and Southern California Player of the Year in 1979. He was drafted by the Houston Rockets in the 3rd Round of the 1979 NBA Draft. He played for the Philippine National team-Northern Cement coached by Ron Jacobs in the 1980 Jones Cup in Taiwan, where the Philippines won the championship defeating Taiwan, Sweden, Italy, and the United States. Brown also played for the De La Salle Green Archers in 1982.

Professional career

Brown moved on to play professional basketball in the PBA in 1983, where he became the first-ever Filipino-American to play as a 'local' in the league. He was the 1983 Rookie of the Year and 1985 MVP. He was also included in the Mythical Five selection in 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, and 1988. He played for the Great Taste Coffee Makers and the San Miguel Beermen, where he won a total of 7 championships during his PBA career. His ability to evade his defenders and score as well as pin point assists made him one of the best point guards in the PBA. He holds the All-time PBA career scoring average (23.1 ppg) and PBA All-time Best Assist Average (7.3 per game).
