Rick Zombo

Richard James Zombo (born May 8, 1963 in Des Plaines, Illinois) is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for 12 seasons between 1984 and 1996. He is the current men's ice hockey head coach at Lindenwood University.

Playing career

Junior/NCAA Hockey

Zombo played with the Austin Mavericks the USHL as a 17-year-old during the 1980–81 season, earning 36 points in 43 games. In the 1981 NHL Entry Draft, the Detroit Red Wings drafted Zombo in the 8th round, 149th overall. Despite being drafted, Zombo decided to attend the University of North Dakota and play hockey with their team, the North Dakota Fighting Sioux.

In his freshman season with North Dakota, Zombo appeared in 45 games, registering 16 points, as he helped the team win the 1982 NCAA National Championship as the Fighting Sioux defeated the Wisconsin Badgers 5–2 in the championship game. In 1982–83, Zombo would once again earn 16 points, and he would earn a spot on the US National Team in the World Junior Hockey Championships, where he went pointless in seven games. Zombo saw his offensive numbers explode in the 1983–84 season with North Dakota, as he recorded 31 points in 34 games in what would be his last season with the Fighting Sioux.

Absalom is a horror story spin-off from Caballistics, Inc. by Gordon Rennie and Tiernen Trevallion. It spanned three installments "Noblesse Obligie" in 2000 AD #1732-1739 (May–June 2011), "Sick leave" in 2000 AD Prog 2012 (December 2011) and "Ghosts of London" in 2000 AD #1765-1771 (January–February 2012).

The first trade paperback, Ghosts of London, was published in June 2012 (ISBN 1781080429).

Ampney Crucis Investigates

Zombo (singer)

Zombo (3 May 1979 – 17 February 2008), born Tebogo Ndlovu, was a South African singer, songwriter and music producer, best known as a member of kwaito group Abashante.

Biography

Zombo earned fame as a rapper with kwaito stars Abashante in the 1990s. The group, which also included vocalists Nestum and Queen Sesako, were known for their energetic dancing routines. Their most successful album was their 1996 debut, "Girls" (released before Zombo joined the group), which went platinum in South Africa. Later releases included "Settlin’ The Score", "Ayoyo" and "Intwenjani?".

After leaving Abashante, Zombo worked as a music producer and started his own record label. As a solo artist and as a member of new group Collabo he failed to emulate his former success as a performer, though his album "Zombo" earned a nomination for Best Rap Album at the 2003 South African Music Awards. By 2008 he was living in poverty, complaining in a newspaper interview that he lacked even the money to feed himself properly.
