REWE Group

The REWE Group is a German diversified retail and tourism co-operative group based in Cologne, Germany. The name REWE comes from Revisionsverband der Westkauf-Genossenschaften", meaning "Western Buying Co-operatives Auditing Association". The most important companies under the umbrella of the REWE Group, come under the REWE-Central AG and REWE-Zentralfinanz eG names. The basis of the co-operative trade group consists of a network of independent retailers. In the 2014 Financial Year, the REWE Group had a total external sales of €51.1 billion. The REWE Group is the second largest supermarket chain in Germany behind EDEKA.

REWE is a supermarket chain in Germany and part of the Cologne-based REWE Group. REWE has more than 15,000 stores and 211,000 employees worldwide. As of 2015 they have publicised plans for investing more heavily in their online presence.

Their catchphrase is "Besser leben." (English: Live better.)

Their own store brand products are branded as "ja!" (English: yes!) and as "REWE Feine Welt".

The Bundesliga club 1. FC Köln was sponsored by REWE on their jerseys until the end of the 2013–14 season.
