Reverend Gary Davis

Reverend Gary Davis, also Blind Gary Davis, (April 30, 1896 – May 5, 1972) was a blind African American blues and gospel singer and guitarist, who was also proficient on the banjo guitar and harmonica. His finger-picking guitar style influenced many other artists and his students include Stefan Grossman, David Bromberg, Roy Book Binder, Larry Johnson, Nick Katzman, Dave Van Ronk, Rory Block, Ernie Hawkins, Larry Campbell, Bob Weir, Woody Mann, and Tom Winslow.

He has influenced Bob Dylan, The Grateful Dead, Wizz Jones, Jorma Kaukonen, Keb' Mo', Ollabelle, Resurrection Band, and John Sebastian of The Lovin' Spoonful.

Biography

Gary Davis was born in the Piedmont region of the country, in Laurens, South Carolina, and was the only one of eight children his mother bore who survived to adulthood. He became blind as an infant. Davis reported that his father was killed in Birmingham, Alabama, when Davis was ten, and Davis later said that he had been told that his father had been shot by the Birmingham High Sheriff. He recalled being poorly treated by his mother and that before his death his father had given him into the care of his paternal grandmother.

Gary Davis (American football)

Gary Curtis Davis (born September 7, 1954) is a former American football running back in the National Football League. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the sixth round of the 1976 NFL Draft and also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cleveland Browns. He played college football at Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo.

Meg Harris

Meg Harris was an old nursing school friend of Alice Piper (Toni Potter). Alice tried to set Meg up with Craig Valentine (Renato Bartolomei) but ended up falling for him herself. Meg gained a job at the hospital and following the arrest of Kieran Mitchell (Adam Rickitt) for the suspicion of being The Ferndale Strangler, Meg agreed to be a police informant. Kieran discovered the ploy and just days later Meg's naked body was found, making her the third victim of the serial killer.

Beth Wilson

Beth Wilson was a nurse from the bureau. She arrived in February and returned in September when she attacked Joey Henderson (Johnny Barker), believing he was the Ferndale Strangler. Beth later went missing and her body was found in a park, making her the serial killers fourth victim.

Gavin Capper

Dr. Gavin Capper was a doctor at the hospital. Gavin's strange behaviour and sadistic sexuality led many to believe he was the Ferndale Strangler. In December, Gavin was arrested for the murders but the charges were dropped only for Gavin to be charged with rape, an act he and Justin Salt (Heath Jones) had participated in at medical school.

Revò

Revò (Ladin: Rvòu, German: Nußdorf am Nonsberg) is a comune (municipality) in Trentino in the northern Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 35 kilometres (22 mi) north of Trento.

Geography

Revò is situated on a grassy plain in the Val di Non, overlooking Lake Santa Giustina, and had already been settled by the 3rd century BC. It is backed by Monte Ozol, in the Maddalene mountain range, which is topped by an iron-age hill fort. The parish church of Santo Stefano dates back to at least 1128 AD and has a fine spire. The church of St Mary dates from the 18th century and has an octagonal spire. Other notable buildings include the Villa Campia-Maffei and the Casa Thun. Nearby, the River Sass has carved a narrow but deep canyon through the rock and visitors can walk along the trails and walkways that traverse the vertical-sided gorge in the "Parco Fluviale Novella".

The municipality of Revò contains the frazione (subdivision) Tregiovo. Revò borders the following municipalities: Cagnò, Cles, Cloz, Romallo, Rumo, Sanzeno, and Laurein.

Rev is an album by Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell, released in 1999. It is a combination of solo work and a best-of for the singer's bands.

Background

To fulfill requirements on a contract with Warner Bros. Records, this album was produced with a combination of solo, Jane's Addiction, and Porno for Pyros recordings. Originally, the solo tracks were intended for a side project called "Golabee". The title track features Tom Morello and John Frusciante on guitars. Farrell signed with Virgin Records shortly after Rev's release.
