"Respectable" is a Mel and Kim song written and produced by Stock/Aitken/Waterman that became a UK number one single for one week in March 1987. It was the second UK number one single produced by Stock/Aitken/Waterman, following Dead or Alive's "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" in 1985, and the first UK number one single that Stock/Aitken/Waterman had written themselves. The single also topped the charts in Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Finland, Australia and New Zealand in 1987.

Respectable (The Rolling Stones song)

"Respectable" is a song by The Rolling Stones from their 1978 album Some Girls. It was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. In the liner notes to the 1993 compilation album Jump Back: The Best of The Rolling Stones (on which it was included), Jagger said, "It's important to be somewhat influenced by what's going on around you and on the Some Girls album, I think we definitely became more aggressive because of the punk thing..."

Inspiration and recording

Recorded from October through December 1977, "Respectable" was originally written by Mick Jagger to be a slower song, but guitarist Richards saw the advantages of speeding up the tempo and crafting a rocker out of the song. Jagger continued in the liner notes, "On ["Respectable"] I was banging out three chords incredibly loud on the electric guitar, which isn't always a wonderful idea but was fun here. This is a punk meets Chuck Berry number..." This resulted in Jagger and Richards having arguments over the song's tempo.

Mela

Mela (Sanskrit: मेला) is a Sanskrit word meaning 'gathering' or 'to meet' or a 'fair'. It is used in the Indian subcontinent for all sizes of gatherings and can be religious, commercial, cultural or sport-related. In rural traditions melas or village fairs were (and in some cases still are) of great importance. This led to their export around the world by south Asian diaspora communities wishing to bring something of that tradition to their new countries.

In recent times "Mela" also popularly refers to shows and exhibitions. It can be theme-based, promoting a particular culture, art or skill. Generally in "melas" people can find eateries, entertainment activities, shops and games.

The Kumbh Mela, held every twelve years, at Allahabad, Haridwar, Nashik and Ujjain is one of the largest fairs in India, where over 60 million people gathered in January 2001, making it the largest gathering anywhere in the world.

Rishton Ka Mela

Rishton Ka Mela was an Indian television series, which premiered on 27 April 2015 on Zee TV. The series was produced by Essel Vision Productions. It was a mini-series, consisting of only 10 episodes, and ended on 8 May 2015. Indian television actors and actresses Sargun Mehta,Karanvir Bohra, Sayantani Ghosh, Karan Mehra, Ratan Rajput, Usha Nadkarni, Eijaz Khan, Anupam Shyam, Karan Grover and Poonam Preet were signed for the series.
