"Relight My Fire" is a popular song which was written and released by Dan Hartman in 1979, when it topped the U.S. dance-music charts for six weeks. It was also performed by Costa Anadiotis' band Café Society in 1984 and British boy band Take That (with Lulu in a featured role) in 1993.
Originally released in 1979 as the follow-up to "Instant Replay", "Relight My Fire" topped the United States dance charts for six weeks from December 12, 1979 to February 16, 1980; it was less successful in the UK, however, where it failed to chart. Loleatta Holloway is credited as a featured vocalist on some versions of the record, singing the "strong enough to walk on through the night" refrain. The song's strings and horns were played by MFSB and conducted by longtime MFSB member Don Renaldo. The 12" version includes a 4½-minute intro called "Vertigo", often used in discos as a floor-filler before the song begins; this 11:22 version is available on Hartman's 1994 hits package titled Keep the Fire Burnin'. The title track from this album was a new recording between Hartman and Holloway, featuring some samples from "Relight My Fire".
Hugo Pierre Leclercq (born 30 May 1994), better known by his stage name Madeon, is a French electronic music producer from Nantes, France. He initially gained popularity by means of his video "Pop Culture", a mash-up of nearly forty different popular songs in real-time using a MIDI controller, which was published to YouTube and subsequently received millions of hits in its first few days of broadcast on the Internet.
Leclercq's first EP The City was released in 2012. His debut studio album Adventure was released on 30 March 2015, being supported by a 22-stop North American tour.
Leclercq started composing music at the age of 11, producing hands-up under the name of "Deamon" until 2010 when he began producing house music under his current name, Madeon, which is an anagram of his previous nickname. He won a remix competition for "The Island" by Pendulum the same year.
He went on to remix other electronic artists tracks the following year. A clip of him performing his mash-up "Pop Culture", uploaded to YouTube on 7 July 2011, propelled him to international fame. It featured samples from thirty-nine songs mixed together on-the-fly using a Novation Launchpad. The clip quickly went viral and reached over six million views in just a few days.
Help me escape this feelin' of insecurity
I need you so much but I don't think you really need me
But if we all stand up in the name of love
And state the case of what we're dreamin' of
I've got to say I only dream of you
But like a thief in the night you took away the love that I knew
Relight my fire, your love is my only desire
Relight my fire cos I need your love
Turn back the times 'til the days when our love was new
Do you remember
No matter what was happenin', I was there with you
But if we all stand up for what we believe
And maybe live within our possibilities
The world would be wild for the dream
So baby don't turn away, listen to what I gotta say
Relight my fire, your love is my only desire
Relight my fire cos I need your love
Relight my fire, your love is my only desire
Relight my fire cos I need your love, yeah
You gotta be sure enough to walk on through the night
There's another new day on the other side
Cos I got hope in my soul I keep on walkin' baby
Relight my fire, your love is my only desire
Relight my fire cos I need your love
Relight my fire, your love is my only desire
