Reign in Hell is a 2008-2009 comic book limited series written by Keith Giffen, pencilled by Thomas Derenick, inked by Bill Sienkiewicz, and published by DC Comics. The title is a reference to a line spoken by Lucifer in John Milton's Paradise Lost: "Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven."
During the events of Reign in Hell, the Underworld is thrown into a massive conflict as Neron and his generals are confronted with a rebellion led by Lord Satanus and Lady Blaze, the rulers of Purgatory. Neron soon discovered that the rebel demons were offering the damned hope, and that this was a powerful spur. Recognizing what would happen if the damned rose up against him, Neron has his consort Lilith, the "mother of all earthborn fiends," summon all vampires, ghouls, werewolves, and infernally powered humans to Hell.
This unrest in the infernal realm attracts the attention of Earth's mystics, who are concerned about the outcome and possible repercussions of the war. Many magically powered heroes descend into Hell and take sides in the conflict, including Zatanna, Doctor Fate, the Shadowpact, Zauriel, Sargon the Sorcerer, Ibis the Invincible, Black Alice, and Linda Danvers. In the series' backup feature, Doctor Occult also journeys to Hell but with ulterior motives—to free the soul of his beloved Rose Psychic.
Reign in Hell is a 1997 novel by William Diehl.
Martin Vail, now a U.S. Attorney, is assigned a case in which he must go up against a survivalist militia — and unexpectedly encounters his nemesis, Aaron Stampler, seemingly back from the dead and posing as a blind Baptist preacher.
In Hell is a 2003 American prison action film directed by Ringo Lam, and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme and Lawrence Taylor. It is the third and final collaboration between Jean-Claude Van Damme and Hong Kong film director Ringo Lam.
Kyle LeBlanc (Van Damme) is an American working overseas in Russia. When he hears his wife being attacked over the phone, Kyle rushes home to find that he is too late. Kovich (Michail Elenov), the man who has killed his wife is found not guilty on lack of evidence (but in fact because the defense bought the judge). Kyle, therefore, takes the law into his own hands and kills Kovich to avenge his wife's death, and for this he is sentenced to life in prison without parole. He soon befriends inmate Billy Cooper (Chris Moir) , a 21-year-old who is subjected to constant rape and beatings by prison inmates (they are actually helped by the guards who lock him in cells with these prisoners during the night) and also Malakai, a wheelchair-bound prisoner who claims to know the ins and outs of prison life.
Fire surrounds, searing flames,
Dying in fire, painful death,
Flames ignite your every breath,
Intense heat sears your soul,
So you scream, no one hears
The bowels of Hell it sears
soul consumed to everlasting rot,
Flames ignite your flammable breath,
Intense heat sears your soul,
everything you've known is gone in a flash,
Grilled, and burnt and black as you burn,
never ending, everywhere you turn
molten rock rolls over your soul
to burn in hell was your ultimate goal
now you are there, screaming in pain,
were is the water to ease suffering
Scenes of gore are yet never ending,
but you feel it inside
This is just life
