Red Oak is an 830-megawatt combined cycle gas turbine power plant located in Sayreville, New Jersey not far from the South River opened on 2002.

Energy Capital acquired it from a subsidiary of the AES Corporation in April 2012, which, in November 2013, sold it to the Carlyle Group.

Damage to the plant due to Hurricane Sandy in 2012 took it offline line for five months.

TAQA subsidiary TAQA Gen-X owns 85% and Morgan Stanley owns 15% of the tolling agreement for the facility through its with partner.Natural gas is provided by New Jersey Resources. It is part of the PJM Interconnection of the Eastern Interconnection grid electric transmission system. A 2013 report named It is one of the largest single sources of carbon pollution in the state.

The Sayreville Energy Center operated by NextEra Energy Resources is nearby.

Red Oak, Iowa

Red Oak is a city in and the county seat of Montgomery County, Iowa, United States, located along the East Nishnabotna River. The population was 5,742 in the 2010 census, a decline from the 6,197 population in the 2000 census.

History

Red Oak derives its name from Red Oak Creek which flows through the community and was noted for the red oaks on its banks. First settlers arrived there in the 1850s. In 1865 it became the official county seat of Montgomery County and the courthouse which previously was in the middle of the county seven miles east in Frankfort, Iowa was towed to the community in the middle of a snow storm. That courthouse remained in place until the current Montgomery County Courthouse (Iowa) was built in 1891. It is on the National Register of Historic Places.

In 1869 the community was officially founded when the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad (called the Burlington and Missouri River Railroad at the time) arrived. The community was named Red Oak Junction by the railroad on March 20, 1876. The junction was a line off the main Chicago to Council Bluffs, Iowa line that went to Nebraska City, Nebraska and on to Lincoln, Nebraska. The Junction name was dropped in 1901 although the community continues to celebrate its history each summer in Junction Days. In 1903 a new depot was opened by the railroad. It today serves as a museum celebrating the community's significant military heritage and its disproportionate number of casualties in various wars and most famously in World War II. The depot is one of nine places in Montgomery County on the National Register of Historic Places listings in Montgomery County, Iowa.

"Ohio" is a song from the 1953 Broadway musical Wonderful Town, sung by the protagonists, bemoaning the fact that they had left Ohio for New York.

It was written by Leonard Bernstein, Betty Comden, and Adolph Green.

In the original 1953 broadway production, the song was performed by Rosalind Russell. A noteworthy recording of the song was made by Doris Day as part of her albums, Show Time (1960) and My Heart (2011). An additional noteworthy release was in November 2010 when it was sung by Carol Burnett and Jane Lynch on the popular U.S. television show Glee.

Ohio is the debut studio album by American rapper Stalley. The album was released on October 27, 2014, by Maybach Music Group and Atlantic Records. The album features guest appearances from Nipsey Hussle, Rick Ross, August Alsina, Ty Dolla Sign, Rashad and De La Soul. The album was supported by the singles "Always Into Something", "Jackin' Chevys" and "One More Shot".

In July 2012, Stalley announced he had begun recording his debut album, saying: "We're workin' on an album right now. I'm in the studio. I just got in there about a week ago, so it's a whole big process. Right now, I'm thinking maybe top of the year would be the album. I definitely just take [Rick Ross and Wale's] energy, and I definitely watch their energy and watch how they do things. I'm very observant of how they set up their albums and set up their singles and things like that, being that it's all new to me. That's great company to keep and great people to watch."

On August 22, 2014, he announced the album would be titled Ohio in a vlog, saying: "The sound of my current music is intelligent truck music. It’s a sound that’s built for the cars. But you can also enjoy it in your headphones, your computer or however you want to listen to it. Me, growing up, I rode around listening to music. It was kind of like the soundtrack my days or wherever I was going."
