Redmire railway station is the current western terminus of the Wensleydale Railway and serves the village of Redmire in North Yorkshire, England. The site was redeveloped in the early 1990s by the Ministry of Defence to allow movement of military equipment by rail to and from Catterick Garrison, an operation that continues periodically to this day. Prior to that, the site was used as a quarry loading terminal for daily limestone trains to the British Steel (now Corus Group) plant at Redcar. This traffic kept the 22 mile (35.6 km) branch from Northallerton open after the Beeching cuts of the 1960s claimed the remainder of the line towards Hawes, but its end in December 1992 left the line's future in doubt until the MoD stepped in. The Wensleydale Railway subsequently leased the line from Railtrack and began operating passenger trains to Redmire in 2004.
The station house at Redmire Station is owned by a charitable trust and run by 2nd Acomb Scout group and they have used it to house tourists staying in the Yorkshire Dales and to their own benefit for scouting activities
A train station, railway station, railroad station, or depot (see below) is a railway facility where trains regularly stop to load or unload passengers or freight.
It generally consists of at least one track-side platform and a station building (depot) providing such ancillary services as ticket sales and waiting rooms. If a station is on a single-track line, it often has a passing loop to facilitate traffic movements. The smallest stations are most often referred to as "stops" or, in some parts of the world, as "halts" (flag stops).
Stations may be at ground level, underground, or elevated. Connections may be available to intersecting rail lines or other transport modes such as buses, trams or other rapid transit systems.
In the United States, the most common term in contemporary usage is train station. Railway station and railroad station are less frequent; also, American usage makes a distinction between the terms railroad and railway.
In Britain and other Commonwealth countries, traditional usage favours railway station or simply station, even though train station, which is often perceived as an Americanism, is now about as common as railway station in writing; railroad station is not used, railroad being obsolete there. In British usage, the word station is commonly understood to mean a railway station unless otherwise qualified.

Redmire is a village and civil parish in the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire, England. It is about 4 miles west of Leyburn in Wensleydale at the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
It is the terminus of the Wensleydale Railway. Recently the Ministry of Defence trialled the use of trains to transport armoured vehicles from bases in the south to the Catterick military area, using Redmire railway station as its terminus.
The village was featured in the British television series All Creatures Great and Small, in the episode "Puppy Love", as the location of Darrowby bus stop. The village pub, the Bolton Arms, was also featured in the episode "Beauty of the Beast".

Walking through the town where you live
And I dream of another day
Daylight failing over the railings
Past your window
As another dream in the railway station
You're too late
You're gonna have to wait all day now
'Cause no one else will help you
Follow me to the seaside
It's fine for a daydream
They just let you down
They just let you down
Summer's gone incompletely
You're no one, you can disappear
If you don't try now
If you don't try again
On a sunny day I think
It gets hard to remember
They won't let you down
They won't let you down
They won't let you down
Seen something you've done
Far in a distance
You're waiting and watching
And don't think it's helping
They won't let you down
They won't let you down
