Discography

Discography is the study and cataloging of published sound recordings, often by specified artists or within identified musical genres. The exact information included varies depending on the type and scope of the discography, but a discography entry for a specific recording will often list such details as the names of the artists involved, the time and place of the recording, the title of the piece performed, release dates, chart positions, and sales figures.

A discography can also refer to the recordings catalogue of an individual artist, group, or orchestra. This is distinct from a sessionography, which is a catalogue of recording sessions, rather than a catalogue of the records, in whatever medium, that are made from those recordings. The two are sometimes confused, especially in jazz, as specific release dates for jazz records are often difficult to ascertain, and session dates are substituted as a means of organizing an artist's catalogue.

The term "discography" was popularized in the 1930s by collectors of jazz records. Jazz fans did research and self-published discographies about when jazz records were made and what musicians were on the records, as record companies did not commonly include that information on or with the records at that time. Two early jazz discographies were Rhythm on Record by Hilton Schleman and Hot Discography by Charles Delaunay.

911 discography

The discography of British boy band 911 consists of 13 singles and three studio albums. They were formed in 1995 and released their debut single in May 1996. They went on to score 10 UK top 10 singles and 10 million singles sales around the world, before their split in early 2000. The trio reunited in 2005, when they participated in the ITV reality show Hit Me, Baby, One More Time and have performed live shows occasionally since.

In October 2012, it was announced that 911 would again reunite for The Big Reunion documentary on ITV2 in January 2013.

Redd

Redd is a Turkish rock band established in 1996 by tenor opera singer Doğan Duru and guitarist Berke Hatipoğlu under the name Ten. They used to play at bars until they set up their own studio in 2004. Their first album, entitled "50/50", produced by Levent Büyük was published a year later by Stardium Müzik, already under the name Redd. The first videoclip was shot for "Mutlu Olmak İçin" (To Be Happy). Their second studio album, "Kirli Suyunda Parıltılar" (Glitters on Dirty Water) came out in 2006 under Pasaj Müzik. Their song "Falan Filan" entered the MTV World Music Charts at the 10th position. In 2007 the band produced its third album, "Plastik Çiçekler ve Böcek" (Plastic Flowers and Beetle). Redd started the studio recordings of their fourth album in 2009, which was published by Sony Music. Their first original soundtrack album for director Çağan Irmak's feature film Prensesin Uykusu was released in 2010. Songs from the album managed to enter European music charts.
