Robert Mandell is best known as the creator, producer and co-writer of the 1986–1987 animated series The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers (the "Collection1" edition of Galaxy Rangers features a 14-minute video interview with Mandell about his career as well as an audio commentary track). Later he created the 1995–1996 animated series Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders and wrote or co-wrote and directed its episodes. He was also a writer and executive producer for the American version of Thunderbirds 2086 (in association with Barry Gray) and an executive producer for The King and I and the Ace Ventura, Pet Detective animated TV series, among other credits.
As of 2010, Mandell is the Chief Creative Officer and CEO of the company Red Sky Entertainment (a subsidiary of Blue Wave Entertainment), whose properties include Galaxy Rangers, Heavy Metal Pulp (a series of illustrated novels published by Tor in cooperation with Heavy Metal magazine) and the Avalon: Web of Magic novel series, loosely based on his cartoon series Jewel Riders and produced by him. Current projects include producing a TV series based on Larry Niven's novel Ringworld, as well as a two-volume manga adaptation based on Ringworld, a feature film based on the Avalon book series, and a re-imagined live action TV series based on the Galaxy Rangers.
Sky Entertainment was a television channel owned by British Sky Broadcasting which was broadcast to the Scandinavian countries.
The channel was the result of an agreement between Telenor CTV and British Sky Broadcasting made in March 1997, which meant Telenor would be able to broadcast two channels produced by BSkyB to their subscribers in Scandinavia.
Sky Entertainment was launched in September 1997 along with Sky News & Documentaries. It carried programming from several British channels, most notably those operated by Granada Sky Broadcasting. At launch, the channels carried were:
The channel shared its analogue transponder on Intelsat 707 with DR2 which was broadcasting between 5 p.m. and 1 a.m., meaning the programmes of Granada Plus weren't available to analogue viewers.
The channels were broadcast on the 1 degree west frequency as a part of the CTV package.
After CMT Europe closed down in 1998, it was replaced by Video Zone.
Diffuse sky radiation is solar radiation reaching the Earth's surface after having been scattered from the direct solar beam by molecules or suspensoids in the atmosphere. It is also called skylight, diffuse skylight, or sky radiation and is the reason for changes in the color of the sky. Of the total light removed from the direct solar beam by scattering in the atmosphere (approximately 25% of the incident radiation when the sun is high in the sky, depending on the amount of dust and haze in the atmosphere), about two-thirds ultimately reaches the earth as diffuse sky radiation.
The important processes in the atmosphere (Rayleigh scattering and Mie scattering) are elastic processes, by which light can be deviated from its path without being absorbed and with no change in wavelength.
The sunlit sky is blue because air scatters short-wavelength light more than longer wavelengths. Since blue light is at the short wavelength end of the visible spectrum, it is more strongly scattered in the atmosphere than long wavelength red light. The result is that the human eye perceives blue when looking toward parts of the sky other than the sun. The color perceived is similar to that obtained by a monochromatic blue of wavelength 474–476 nm mixed with white light, i.e., an unsaturated blue light.

"Red Sky" is a single released by the British Rock band Status Quo in 1986. It was included on the album In the Army Now.
It was the second of two songs to be written by John David and produced by Dave Edmunds. The 7 inch was also issued as a double pack with an additional single "Rocking All Over The World"/"Whatever You Want". Also to promote this release special jars of coffee were made. "Don't Give It Up" had previously been recorded by Rhino in 1983, but never released. This track was also recorded by Rick Parfitt (also featuring John Edwards and Jeff Rich) for his own solo album. For the 12 inch release a "Live At Wembley" poster gave the medley track list.
I was out on the highway
I was out on my feet
I was tired and hungry
I was late for the meet.
I had a red sky behind me
I had the bad guys on my tail
I had a hundred different reasons
To keep me falling awake
I had a red sky behind me
With the stars coming into view
And the thought that kept me going
Was soon I'm gonna make it with you
I had the desert on both sides now
I had the lights in my eyes
Of the town I remember
Up ahead in the cold black sky
I had a red sky behind me
I had the bad guys on my tail
I had a hundred different reasons
To keep me falling awake
I had a red sky behind me
With the stars coming into view
And the thought that kept me going
Was soon I'm gonna make it with you
Well I remember that old saying 'bout how good tomorrow will be
But will I be lucky to see with a red sky's lucky for me
In my dreams there is a picture of me in a big gold frame
And the poeple that I've never seen are pointing at my name
I had a red sky behind me
I had the bad guys on my tail
I had a hundred different reasons
To keep me falling awake
I had a red sky behind me
With the stars coming into view
And the thought that kept me going
Was soon I'm gonna make it with you
I had a red sky behind me
With the stars coming into view
And the thought that kept me going
