The Face was a British reality television series based on the American series of the same name. It aired on Sky Living from September to November 2013. The series saw three supermodels - Caroline Winberg, Erin O'Connor and Naomi Campbell - compete with each other to find the newest face of Max Factor.

The premiere of The Face drew poor ratings of only 132,000 viewers, a market share of 0.6% of British households watching TV at the time, and below the audience Sky Living averaged in the same time slot - 239,000 viewers (1% share) - during the year before the show aired. In July 2014, it was confirmed that due to poor ratings, the show was axed would not return for a second series.

The Face (Australian TV series)

The Face was an Australian reality television modelling competition series aired on Fox8 of Foxtel and produced by Shine Australia. Naomi Campbell was the show's executive producer and one of the three supermodel coaches of the series, as with The Face (U.S.) and The Face (U.K.). It was reported that the channel and production team acquired the right to create an adaptation for Australian TV on 31 August 2013. Filming for the series took place from 1 November to 4 December 2013. The series was broadcast from March to May 2014.

The show premiered to 40,000 national viewers, which was the 18th most watched show on subscription television that night, but only fourth most watched program on FOX8. The remaining episodes of the series rated under 50,000 national viewers, with the finale attracting only 16,000 viewers (plus 25,000 viewers on FOX8 +2)

Requirements

All applicants attempting to enter the competition were required to be female and be over the age of 18 or under the age 30 as of 1 November 2013. Applying contestants were also required to meet the minimum height requirement of 172 cm. Past experience as a model was not a requisite. Those with experience as a model could not have been in any national campaign within previous five years before applying. The deadline for all applications was 22 September 2013.

Xbox 360 technical problems

The Xbox 360 video game console is subject to a number of technical problems and failures that can render it unusable. However, many of the issues can be identified by a series of glowing red lights flashing on the face of the console; the three flashing red lights (nicknamed the "Red Ring of Death" or the "RRoD") being the most infamous. There are also other issues that arise with the console, such as discs becoming scratched in the drive and "bricking" of consoles due to dashboard updates. Since its release on November 22, 2005, many articles have appeared in the media portraying the Xbox 360's failure rates, with the latest estimate by warranty provider SquareTrade to be 23.7% in 2009, and currently the highest estimate being 54.2% by a Game Informer survey.

There has been legal action taken attempting to hold Microsoft responsible for the Xbox 360's failure rate and provide compensation for those affected.

"General Hardware Failure" errors

Three flashing red lights around the Xbox 360 power button instead of the one to four green lights indicating normal operation represent an internal problem that requires service. This error was soon nicknamed the "Red Ring of Death", echoing Windows' Blue Screen of Death error. Warning signs may include freeze-ups, graphical problems in the middle of gameplay, such as checkerboard or pinstripe patterns on the screen, and sound errors; mostly consisting of extremely loud noises that can be affected by the volume control, and the console only responds to pressing the power button to turn it off. These events may happen once or several times until the hardware failure occurs, or not at all. If the console freezes occasionally, the error will not necessarily follow. The technical problems seem to affect some generations of consoles more than others. e.g. Xenon or Zephyr. Those problems may also cause some freezing screens.

Red Lights (song)

"Red Lights" is a song by Dutch musician, DJ and record producer, Tiësto. The song features uncredited vocals from Michel Zitron, who co-wrote the song with Wayne Hector, Carl Falk, Rami Yacoub, Tijs Verwest and Måns Wredenberg. "Red Lights" was first released on December 13, 2013 through PM:AM Recordings as the lead single from Tiësto's fifth studio album, A Town Called Paradise (2014).

"Red Lights" is mostly a musical change from Tiësto's previous releases as it departs from his trademark trance influenced sound and sees him experimenting with new genres through the incorporation of acoustic elements into his music, which highlights his ability to adapt to the expanding EDM market.

"Red Lights" received generally mixed reviews from contemporary music critics and performed moderately well in most major music markets. It became Tiësto's first number-one hit in Scotland, his first top ten hit in the United Kingdom and his highest charting single in Ireland and Australia. Additionally, "Red Lights" also became Tiësto's second highest charting single in the United States, where it has peaked at number fifty-six on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song also enjoyed success on the US Dance charts, peaking at number-two on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs and number-six on the US Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs charts.

Red Lights (2012 film)

Red Lights is a 2012 Spanish-American thriller film written and directed by Rodrigo Cortés and starring Cillian Murphy, Sigourney Weaver, Robert De Niro, Toby Jones, Elizabeth Olsen, Joely Richardson and Leonardo Sbaraglia. The plot focuses on a physicist (Murphy) and a university psychology professor (Weaver), both of whom specialize in debunking supernatural phenomena, and their attempt at discrediting a renowned psychic (De Niro) whose greatest critic mysteriously died thirty years prior.

The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2012, and received a limited release in the United States on July 13, 2012.

Plot

The film opens with two primary characters: a university academic who also engages in paranormal investigation work, Margaret Matheson (Sigourney Weaver); and her assistant in both areas, Tom Buckley (Cillian Murphy), who is also a talented physics academic. The audience is provided with an insight into the world of the opening section's primary characters while concurrently observing the public re-emergence of a psychic, Simon Silver (Robert De Niro).
